If Kun gets announced before the season starts then I'm sticking a hundred quid on us to do the league and CL double.

This season is going to be absolutely immense.

Isn't it just.

Last season delivered. I felt it'd be a domestic double and it was. This season I'm really beginning to think we could be dominant in Europe too. The likes of Kun, Silva, Yaya, Kompany, Zaba. They know that it's what is stopping them from really being seen as one of the greatest footballing sides ever - success in Europe. We have the depth of squad and mentality to do both.

Yes, I said it. We have the mentality too. Hope Marvin isn't too offended by that.

If you total Dave's PL assists (39) they amount to a chance conversion rate of around 1 in 9, not exactly world class finishing, our forwards need to get their fingers out, we could score 150 league goals if they were more ruthless. ;-)

Some people understate or are not aware of the the abilities of feran and tixi ,they were pivotal in setting the backbone of the golden age of barcelona on and of the pitch where likes of messi were tied up into long term deals and the crux of the team remained together with little bit of tinkering,and the same is the philosophy being applied here,and its only a matter of time before Aguero and kompany sign New deals and I won't be even surprised if we break even with ffp by next season

If his next 5 years are as good as his first 4, they are going to have to name a stand after him. Quite simply the best player in the best team we've ever had, and a humble, down to earth guy to boot. A special talent and it's a privilege to watch him play.

This is great, great news and reading what he said when he signed the new deal just shows us what special, unique times these are for our club and us. We have the players we want with the attitude we need and a presence in the dressing room which is exemplary. The club is tying down the key members of our squad to contracts which will keep them at the club for the rest of their careers - and they seem only too willing to sign on the dotted line. Others will follow hopefully and I think the message from the club is that four years ago we bagan a cycle of team/squad building which came to completion yesterday, Now the team is coming to its peime and we'll keep it together, with minor tweaks, for five years. Great news - and shows why we didn't go for any of the "big names" other clubs are chasing this summer. We knew who we wanted and we know who we want to keep. Thanls Dave, thanks Txiki and Ferran, thanks Khaldoon.......but especially, thanks Sheikh Mansour.

He was a rare ray of sunshine on Sunday.
Sooo glad we have secured him (or a massive transfer fee) now.
Last season he played through injury but on his brief showing against the arse he would appear to be over that and raring to go.
Can't wait to see what he will do to the geordie boys.
