Apparently they wanted sky blue home kits, but Sydney FC wears the colours already, so the league turned down Mel City's request. The white was the compromise. And yes, the red and white stripes was the former home kit.

And Red and White are the colour's of Melbourne (probably why Melbourne Heart was conceived in the first place)

New sponsor on training kits?
 
Lack of sponsor on the OS on the training kits and the fact there is a temporary one on the players shirts today suggests that a Training kit sponsorhip is in the offing.

Nissan maybe?

I agree, but I'd like to see the Roma two tops hung up on a fucking door lit by a energy saving light bulb before I completely agree.
