new kit '14-'15

Has anybody seen the Champions League kit yet?

I thought the white kit last year was top notch and wouldn't mind playing in that again this season.

Wouldn't be surprised if we kept it, as Melbourne City are going to wear it, and we need something completely different than the sky blue/navy blue home and away kits.

Thought we were being right cheeky fuckers putting them in our third kit personally.

Think it was a case of "easy does it," especially considering the AFL said City could NOT wear the sky blue first kit due to Sydney already having those shirts. Would be a bit silly to have the teams from the two largest cities in the same kit, so I think it is a pretty good compromise, and MCFC can wear their traditional red and white stripes at Sydney.

personally I think it's a great idea as I don't have to shell out for a Melbourne kit to attend my inaurgural season :)

footyheadlines.com are usually right, tbh. It may have similarities to the 2nd kit, but isn't the purpose of the 3rd kit more to use it in Europe now?

Absolute monstrosity of a kit anyway, IMO.

Now that I could live with. That looks brilliant; the red really sets it off.

I actually think it's our nicest kit of the three.

I had heard that the Nike shop were selling the higher quality 'player' version of the new home shirt so decided to have have a look while I was in town today.

The main thing that stood out was the crest. One of the biggest complaints about the Nike shirts has been the lower quality crest/shield in comparison to the high quality stitched effort from Umbro.

Rather than having the flat picture look like the fan shirt, the player shirt crest has a decent texture quality. You'd obviously expect higher quality when forking out for the £90 player shirt, but it's just a shame you're paying more for what we got for a 'normal' price previously.

Never understood why we need to change when we play them. Our blue is a world away from theirs. Even people living in the jungle and watching on B+W sets (young uns, ask your grandparents!) would be able to tell the difference. Indeed, I'm pretty sure I've seen Everton play at our place in their normal dark blue.

We have played Chelsea at home with them wearing their home kit.
One game I recall is when Phelan and Holden crashed into each other and both had to have treatment. I also think Chelsea scored while they were still off the pitch.
