Thank you for yourrecent email to Manchester City Customer Services

which has been passed to me.We are sorry to hear of your disappointment

at the new kits.

The price increase isas a result of our new partnership with the bigger

and more internationalisedsportswear brand, Nike. The adultshirt has a

suggested retail price of £60 which is in line with Nike’sother top

European club shirts and the England shirt. Nike set thewholesale price

and it is a retailer’s decision on what price they setfor retail. The

cost reflects value to the consumer through design,

innovation, development, manufacturing, and retailing. City Stores are

pricing the adultshirt at £55.

Regarding yourfeedback on the minikits for our young fans; our aim is

to maintain the club’s identity and allowfans to express their support

through replica shirts. The choice in neck linefor the Little Boys kits

was based on keeping the overall visual, whilstsimplifying the neck

line construction for younger fans.

We do, however, appreciate your feedback and will be taking this

intoconsideration in the development of next season’s kits.

i never mentioned nothing about the neck line....i complained about the iron on badges!
No mention on why the city store (run by kitbag) is charging £55, and kitbag charging £50 either.

I dont understand you guys...drifit material is the standard and its great. Umbro's cotton sure feels good but when playing a game and sweating its not ideal. DRIFIT is here to stay.

Spare me the Nike sales speak ...... DRIFIT doesn't exist on the mass produced plastic crap thats served up to us fans , it may be used in the player issue shirts , but not the replica shirts . ........and seeing as the chances of me running around the Etihad sweating for MCFC are slim ,... i think i prefer umbro's "cotton feel" anyday over that Nike shite anyday

Wonder how sales of the new home shirt are going? Noticed on the OS you can now get free prem sleeve badges.....bit soon after release to be offering deals

Got my shirt the other Sunday. Wore it once to play 5 a side and it's resulted in two small pulls right under the Etihad printing.

I've had last three seasons Umbro shirts and they've been worn twice a week for five a side, thus washed twice since they launched until the new one launched and they are all in top order. Not a single mark, pull, loose thread or tear on any of them.

I've also got a Spain away shirt which sometimes gets a run out, this is made by Adidas and it's the silky fabric but this too has never pulled.

I think the loose spun fabric design is at fault here, it's not great to be honest. And I feel a little aggrieved to say the least.

Adidas are probably the most elite brand in the sportswear market. they produce some very high quality products.

I guess what I'm trying to get at is the fact Nike are charging a ridiculous price for a product which isn't that great. Meanwhile, their main competitor is shaming them.

I really am gutted that we don't have Umbro anymore because I've loved all the kits we had under them.

These Nike strips really are atrocious and I will be spending my money on the retro kits instead.

Poor, poor, poor

Can't disagree with any of that mate.
The new shirt is poorly designed, the fabric is shoddy, and it is way overpriced.
The sooner we fuck Nike off the better if this crap is any yardstick.

LOL £44 for the home shirt tonight

Anyone complaining. Take it back to the shop and you get another one.

If everyone did this then the club would take notice and demand a change. They won't keep giving out brand new shirts!
