New striker?

We wont, and too many snobby fans would deem it a step down, but dannynings woukd score a bag full for us
I think Danny Ings is underrated, especially for someone his build, he has pretty good ball technique.

On the other hand, with our finances I do think we can get someone even better.

Is Haaland a player for a team that dominates possession?

From what I've seen of him, Halaand is the complete striker, I don't see much weakness in his game.

He suits counter attacking because he's incredibly fast.

He suits crossing because he's big and strong in the air.

He suits balls across the ground because he has good anticipation and rapid acceleration, to get in behind the defence.

A goal a game in the German league at 20 years old says it all. The only player i'd have over him right now, is Mbappe.

Great finisher but the big problem is he is injury prone & misses too many games.

Imagine Haaland in this team the amount of chances we create and crosses that go to waste. 40+ goals no doubt
There were quite a few chances tonight that a fit Aguero or a top striker would have buried. 2-0 doesn't flatter us based on the number of shots and chances, but it could of also easily been 0-0. If we add a top striker, we're going to win a lot of things.

can’t believe the club are going to leave the striker issue until the summer?! Pep apparently now doesn’t know when Sergio will be back?!

This striker issue is becoming painful, it really is! Before we scored tonight, the chances missed from a yard out by Bernado and Ilkay are almost unexplainable. Like many on here I cannot understand why Guardiola is happy to have 5 centre halves but persist with 1 fit centre forward who is out of form and Sergio, whose absence is clearly more than Covid isolation. We must have less genuine No.9 options than any team in this league, and although we continue to triumph on a plan of don't concede, we must be wary that clean sheets aren't guaranteed and we must therefore source a player whose eyes light up in sight of goal and not persist with playing midfielders, whose eyes close as they hope for the best.

What an apt username :)

I'm surprised there's not more shouts for Mbappe.

I think the lad's entering his final year of his contract, and has said he wanted to work with Guardiola.

I think people think it's unrealistic or maybe too difficult to pull off. I'm sure every City fan would love to see him here.

I think it's slightly more realistic at this point. Ligue 1 had quite abit of a financial hit and PSG isn't immune to it I reckon. Plus as I said Mbappe's in his final year of contract, somewhere around the price of 80m-100m might be able to persuade PSG. Only issue I'd say is the kid's currently undergoing a poor patch of form.

Although he said he liked Pep he has also said he doesn’t want to play for City. I have no idea why, or which club he thinks could offer better prospects than us though.

Barca and Madrid in decline and skint.
Bayern in a one horse league like he’s in now.
Juventus?

If he won’t come to City then I don’t see why he go to Liverpool or Chelsea or anyone else in England, we play in the CL more than anyone in this league, win more trophies and have the best manager.

Madrid will find the money, and Javier Tebas will turn a blind eye.

Crazy how the 2 most expensive players ever both have less than 2 years on their contract. Even more so given Mbappe is 22 and French and he seems willing to run it down.

I think we are in for Mbappe. Been saying it for a wile. Reason being he is the stand out talent in his age bracket - there just isnt anyone close in their early 20's. We haven't signed anyone else so i guess we are waiting to see what happens with him.

People bang on about the ownership of PSG being an issue but his contract is up in 2022 - so he walks at that point. He is going to be a £100+ transfer next summer or free the year after. PSG will take the money next year. They likely win the league anyway.

I am sure that is something the club plan to do in the Summer
A striker will be our main priority
I am convinced (guess work obviously) that we had a relatively low net spend this year so we could go big for a Sergio replacement
Hopefully it’s a striker like Mbappe or Haaland however look at how good Dias has turned out there may be a lesser known gem lined up
