New survey (Atmosphere)

The solution is simple make level 1 of the north stand the singing section and level 2 of the south stand the family stand. We are the only club that i know of that split the singing section with away fans and move the home fans in cup games, do the rag, liverpool, arse, chelski or villa et al split or move there fans.

-- Fri Jan 17, 2014 8:14 pm --

The solution is simple make level 1 of the north stand the singing section and level 2 of the south stand the family stand. I took the survey and most of my comments were about the atmosphere or price of food probably like most of you.
I did have to laugh though that some of you moan to the extent that :-
A Better quality of hand dryer in the toilets would improve your match day experience FFS lol
Incidentally Mike Keegan from the MUEN was taking the piss on Twitter that there are threads on here complaining about the pitch and ball boys so I suppose any complaint is fair game.

Practically impossible but everyone who sits in silence should be moved to one third tier, away fans to the other, and every one who sings in the SS. And when the expansion comes along move the family stand and have that as similar to the SS. Then we could have two singing stands in different halves of the stadium for a better overall sound.

Some good ideas on here but there's not going to be one solution to satisfy everyone. For me, there does need to be one section to get the atmosphere going and encourage everyone else to join in. It's convoluted at the moment and it's going to be difficult to change. I don't think any fan should be forced to move or stuck behind people standing throughout when they want to sit. I'm glad it's not my problem.

If I am to be brutally honest then I admit I'm not enjoying it as much as I used to. I can't put my finger on why but little excites me now. Am I just getting old? I'm 34.

The majority in the stadium need to realise that when you start a chant the last thing on anyone's mind is the quality of your voice.

Stop feeling embarrassed and sing loud and proud.

You can tell within 5 mins what the atmosphere will be like in all games and almost nothing that the players do on the pitch changes that.

I would say very few care about the quality of their voice.

There still seems to be a total inability of some to understand that not everyone wants to sing for 90 minutes every week. It's as simple as that.

I honestly think theres not much that can be done. There are just too many people there, families with kids, elderly people, quiet people etc that simply do not want to have to make the effort to sing/stand up/be 'atmospheric' during the game.

Is there a problem with that

did I say there was?

Move away fans to North Stand Level 1 and give us the whole of the South Stand and 110/111. Then make it clear that standing will be tolerated in those areas but no others. Everyone who wants to move then does so.

You move the coach park round nearer that end and bob's your uncle.

There is no way to make the atmosphere good every game, it never was at Maine Road and it never will be now. It's the same at all UK stadiums, unless it's a big game the atmosphere is generally crap. I love singing and stand up at games etc but for midweek home games where the ground is half full even I sometimes just want to sit and watch the match.

Standing would improve it if people can stand where they want , but that's never going to happen. Atmosphere in UK football grounds is finished.
