Lol, you've got a strange definition of 'spam'. I get spam offering me free start up cash to play crap online slot machines. I've never had spam that calls me a 'cockwomble' multiple times.
G'wed then lad?

Their fans seem very RAWK/Un*ted like.
Perhaps they haven't got a drop down option for 'cockwomble' yet? They have only recently started up you know. Give them time.
Arf. You normally have a number of built in options and a section to write your own. The guy took my point and twisted it into something else, after about five rebounds I decided it was time to call him a cockwomble and remove myself from the thread.

The yanks need to grow some balls and wipe the tears away when they read a 'nasty' comment on the internet after acting like a thundercunt. Oh, and most of all they need to stop drinking Budweiser.

As I said, I'm done with it. I'll stick to discussing it on this forum considering the blueprint for theirs is loaned from RAWK.

Don't call me a cockwomble for this but he did have a point about your original post. It did come across as slightly patronising.
You also have to allow that just because we both (us and the yanks) speak English there will be some mistranslations between the two sites not to mention the cultural differences. That 'casuals' thread is embarrassing and would get loudly laughed off the board here but I'm presuming it's meant in a totally different way to what we would expect. At least I hope so.

As a slight aside to everybody who seems to think we 'own' NYCFC, we don't. They're a sister club (as are Melbourne) and not a subsidiary.

Boy am I glad I read this thread and paid NYCFC forum a quick visit, stunning to think they have such a chip on their shoulders already "we owe you nothing it's Mansour we need to think" is the summing up of their attitude, so when a City fan (understandably as the club only exists because of MCFC) goes on and says something like "greetings from Manchester" or "how are things with our sister club" they get it rammed back down their throats. They represent New York and want nothing to do with MCFC, end of. Well, unless they can have our coaches or players.

No one is saying if you live in USA and support NYCFC you immediately have to be an MCFC fans too, but FFS realise the club exists only because of MCFC and it should benefit both clubs in the longrun, over time supporters of both clubs should have a soft spot for each other, look out for results etc. even if you don't actively support them, but their attitude is stunning, staggering, and is beginning to border on hatred towards MCFC because they refuse to accept any affiliation or pay any thanks or grattitude to the club that formed them. You get the impression other MLS fans are pointing out they are MCFC based in New York, and they absolutely refute it, they represent New York and nothing to do with City.

Maybe it's just modern football fans and forums, there were probably just as many biased and deluded fans when I was a kid in the 80's, they just didn't have the platform to air their shite. Maybe I'm in the wrong, but as I say never expect anyone who supports NYCFC to become and immediate City fan, but we are essentially a club no one their fans should hate, whereas I see more hatred towards City than any other club, bizarre.

I've visited (and joined) the NYCFC site and can't see all this bitterness and bile people keep mentioning. Sure there's the odd comment but not an avalanche of it.
And they're correct in saying it's down to Sheikh Mansour and not Man City that they exist. If it wasn't for him we may not exist anymore since we were on a rocky road to oblivion.
I think there's a lot of infiltrators trying to stir up shit over there and here.

Couldn't give less of a fuck if I tried about New Yoik, Melbourne or whomever else we're associated with.

Only ever been a follower of Manchester City F.C.

Maybe it's a vocal minority, I do get the impression reading between the lines that they are "tired" of supposedly having to thank MCFC for everything they do, maybe there are some blues that go on there with that attitude, but that wasn't my point.

It is also MCFC that owns and created them, not Mansour. Mansour wanted an EPL club because it's the most watched league in the world, if he wanted an MLS club he would have bought one independently from us, the investment needed wouldn't even register on his radar (I remember a rumour that when he bought us a newspaper got in touch with his PR people to confirm the investment, but as it was below an amount, £500M if I remember correctly, they couldn't comment as they only deal with investments over that amount, anything less is seen as personal business,).

I just think it's a shame and a bit odd that some almost resent us for creating them, and that now that we have we should clear off and leave them to it, when my impression was that it is a club part of the City football group and that we'd work together to the long-term benefit of both football clubs. I think some NYCFC fans will be disappointed if they believe the direction doesn't come from MCFC or specifically Tixi and Ferran.

I'll follow them. It could be the excuse I need to go to New York one day so why not?

Not a bad start Lampard and Villa - I'll definitely follow them, have some merchandise already and am eyeing up a home game in NY next May

Is fine if you like addidas. they have a contract that gives them exclusivity to manufacture kit/sportswear to every single team in the league. Sounds anti-competitive. A bit Like the MLS itself which does not allow relegation and/or promotion. not for me. Think il give it a miss.

No relegation and promotion does have its own benefits. It gives teams a chance to build properly without having to totally overhaul if they get relegated. Along with wage caps, American sports are generally far more competitive.

How many different teams have won the Premier league since its inception in '92? 5.

How many different teams have won the MLS since '93? 9, nearly double.

Just because something is different doesn't mean it's worse.
