I live in NY City in Queens. I live about 5 miles from Citifield where the Mets paly and thats right by the proposed site for a stadium for NY City FC.
I'm out in Kew Gardens. Do you come to the Hatter?

Usually make an appearence or two during the season but last season I was always too comfortable at home. That is when I was in NY for the matches. I was there even before we started meeting at The Mad Hatter.

The ones who don't want any influence from city fans, are quite clearly acting like arseholes because they support another premier league team. It has nothing to do with them being worried about having no identity of their own. Plenty of scum/scouser plastics trying to put their influence on the club though...

Its this surely. It does irk me just a tad that the club is invloved with the Yankees as I am a long suffering Mets fan. Its doesnt bug me that much though. Maybe its because I have mellowed in my old age. Dont forget, the Yankees had some kind of "alliance" with the Rags. Have no idea what it did for them though......

I'm starting to get a little disillusioned by all this

It seems we don't own New York City, Melbourne City or any other "City" - The City Group owns them as well as us.
In those terms we mean as much to Sheikh Mansour as anyone of these clubs.

I'm beginning to think the purpose of buying these clubs is for the benefit of Abu Dhabi rather than Manchester City. Sure it should benefit us indirectly from a financial point of view as Damocles has alluded to in another thread. However will this be at the cost of them taking their eye off the ball with us. Our resources particularly our CEO, DOF and Chairman will potentially be spread thinly across all these clubs. Is this what we want?
Has it seriously taken you this long to figure that out?

Judging by the replies I doubt the majority of the posters on this thread have!

Obviously ultimately this whole enterprise is for the benefit of Abu Dhabi. However I think most people saw Manchester City as the parent club at the top of the pyramid and this does not seem to be the case.

Our friend that runs the NYCFC forum is up to his censorship antics again.

According to this guy the City fans are not allowed to have a point of view.

His little paddy was posted in a debate on his "Warzone" board which is supposed to be where debates take place, and he is so wound up he is trying to point people to the area he is already in

Well done to the Blue Mooners who are defending the MCFC standpoint... I think all of you understand his aims, and the aims of NYCFC, but like me are not willing to see us (the City Fans) being slagged of by a relative .........

Now here is the classic rant !!!!

"Look, come here, talk about NYCFC and all is good.
Talk about any other club and yes you might get shit for it. Whether it's United, Liverpool, etc.
we have a Warzone forum that's for shit like this. Keep this discussion out of the NYCFC forums.
There's a thread in there about this where everyone can go and blow their top.
You only think EVERYONE here dislikes MCFC because you tell yourself that. I think a good part of 30% of us are MCFC fans as well but we are well past this childish viewpoint of like our club, respect our club and so on. Who gives a shit? Why should we as fans care so much? When we win the title we shouldnt expect our sister club in NYC to throw a parade too out of 'respect'. Come on people.
Before we hashed out all this crap when we first got going we had people coming and then leaving because they felt as if they had to be a city fan to stay here because they got shit the minute they said they supported another club "well that makes no sense why would you support something run by city if you like Liverpool" and we got past that up until yesterday and honest to god if I need to start warning and banning people for continuously hijacking threads about this same damn topic I will.
Go to the Warzone section and have at it. This is the last thread that turns into this stupid, meaningless discussion. YOU CANT MAKE SOMEONE LIKE OR RESPECT YOUR CLUB. IF THATS WHAT YOU NEED TO FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOUR STANCE THEN YOU NEED TO CHECK YOUR OWN LOYALTY."

Not a forum for debate that one.

By my reading of that he was being distinctly provocative. They should support who they want as well as NYCFC. Maybe a tinge of thankfulness but not all out kiss your arse for being there MCFC. I'll follow NYCFC no more than I support Scunthorpe or Colchester which is fuck all. I support MCFC and may take a look at their scores but I won't give a shit win lose or draw. Just as much as any trophy they may win I won't take any pride in that - I'd let their true team and fans enjoy that one.

LOL already the overreaction, ....

As i stated whether people like or not Mcfc and nycf will bennefit from each other and the City handling of the Villa gives you an indication this doesn't mean they will be the same club no separate but consider it as a conglomerate

so good luck to every to every club related to city that's it

Dont even think they need to give us a tinge of thankfulness, and I will find it quite funny watching United, Liverpool, Tottenham, and Chelsea fans wearing sky blue round New York and lining our clubs pocket so I have no issue with other clubs fans being involved at all.

I do have an issue with those fans, most of whom support the previously successful clubs never having seen a live game, trying to slag us off and trying to poison the neutral fans with comments regarding "buying the league" only being noticed in NY for the last two years etc.

Ok if many City fans are new in New York, and interested in the project, then they are interested enough to learn about City. Plastic fans of other clubs slating us and trying to turn them against the parent club is not right.

This is what the censor on the Forum should be addressing, not City fans discussing City, NYC, the past and the future.

Just look at the photo the Forum owner has put on this thread...... IS THIS THE ACTION OF SOMEONE TRYING TO PROMOTE THE PROJECT http://nycfcforums.com/index.php?thread ... e-day.627/

He's told me he's a City supporter. I don't get it

He may well be a City supporter, I don't know, he may mean well but he does not understand the passion City Fans have for our Club, he does not understand English Football.
That said he is organising a USA / New York team and may well understand his culture and maybe I don't. But I will never agree with his promoting other teams / fan views, and will not agree with his style. Whether he like it, I like it, we like it or not the Sheik is trying to promote a brand, a vision and a unity. Yes the clubs may well end up with there own identities (a bit like Volkswagen and Audi) but where possible he should be promoting the brand.... his images where possible (in the absence of NYCFC own imagery, should be that of our fans not rags. If they can't come up with there own songs, (& there is a great idea to make Bridge over Troubled Water there anthem (a song by New York Artists) then he should be promoting ours, not Liverpools, Arsenals, Uniteds etc.....
OK they do not want to be a clone of us I get that
Ok we should not ram our ethos down there throats and create another Chivas I get that
Ok they want to develop there own identity I get that

But in these early stages THAT SITE and its ilk, should be working with us as our club is working with theres to develop and sell the City Brand. Sometimes full on sales sometime subliminal sales. But what I see is a total dis respect for City, our History and our fans.
