Newcastle are cr*p!

I hope people reading from the afore mentioned Newcastle forum read the replies and see how nearly every one of them doesn't show the arrogance and lack of humility that the OP does. We haven't turned into the rags yet though some people seem determined to adopt their arrogance.

To the same extent we shouldn't refrain from calling a spade a spade. I'm sure the OP wouldn't have similar comments if we were facing Spurs for example - or Napoli away next week. If it's an objective opinion and Newcastle's current threat then fair enough...better than patronising the opposition and patting them on the back. I remember a few City fans after the Wigan games saying they were a 'well drilled team who played good football'...well in that match that observation was a pile of bollocks and then some!

Personally I've not watched Newcastle enough this season to judge if it's more luck or good play which has got them to where they are but I wouldn't name a player I'd have near the first team for us.(Cabaye is decent but he's not ahead of Nasri)

Re: Newcastle are crap!

This is an embarrassing thread.

The fact is any Prem team is capable of beating us on the day, with a good mix of how well they play, how badly we play and sheer dumb luck. We were pretty lucky to come away from Fulham and QPR with the points we did.

Re: Newcastle are crap!

I watched them against Everton and they all work very hard for each other. This will be our toughest test yet.

Re: Newcastle are crap!

newcastle are playing some decent footie this season, their defence is well organised, but can it cope against us?, time will tell, it depends how padrew sets his team out, i think we will win, but wont be an easy ride imo

Re: Newcastle are crap!

Out of all our home games so far, this will be a biggest test. It even more special if we do win as we will be the only unbeaten team in the league. Same can be said for Newcastle, so it will be a tough game.

Re: Newcastle are crap!

just to say having read through a lot of this its good to see that the majority of city fans on here are grounded and not arrogant like the OP.

We certainly do not have the depth, quality or big names that yourselves do, and we are by no means deluded. Any check of the majority of our pre match threads will show a lot of people who expect less than what we have achieved so far.

What we do have is a team who have experience having the big name superstars who play for money not the team, and ended up getting relegated. These players have come back much stronger for their experiences.

I personally think its going to be 3-1 to city, but would be over the bluemoon if we scraped a draw, of even managed to get a win ;) but mainly would be happy if we gave a good account of ourselves against what must be one of the top 3 teams in world football on their day.

I think at the moment man city have become the klitshskos of the football world, and people change their game plan completely to play them. I just hope we stick to what we have done so far, because from what i have seen of the QPR game they could easily have scored 4, and hopefully we get those chances. Couple those chances with our resolute defence and fingers crossed :)

But good to see that most of the real fans on here have a decent attitude and are still very grounded

Re: Newcastle are crap!

The thing about the 'easy start' accusations is that it's a flawed argument. Outside of the top 6 the other 14 sides are essentially a much of a muchness. You beat those sides on a regular basis which we have done so far and you will probably finish as best of the rest. Which, for a club that was largely tipped to be fighting relegation would be a success in itself. Hell - Manchester United have won titles largely based on being able to beat the lesser sides on a consistent basis.

I wouldn't think this thread is too arrogant in all honesty, you read stuff like this on the net all the time. Before every game this season I've seen opposing fans say exactly the same things about us (crap team, sold their best players, lucky, hoofball blah blah) yet every time so far we've gone on to get a result. I don't expect it to continue in this fixture but like I've said this game wont decide or destroy our season.

I'm not even worried about this fixture in all honesty because I'm simply not expecting anything. We've already racked up points and anything in these next few games will be a massive bonus. Even if we do get a spanking it'd be no disgrace considering what happened a couple of weeks ago. I came down for last years' fixture but unfortunately can't really afford the expense this year. Still, should be a good'un. Looking forward to it!

A spade is a spade - Wigan are rubbish, Newcastle aren't close to rubbish. Calling Newcastle, one of the six best teams in the country at the moment, rubbish is basically calling every team worse than them rubbish too. That is strikingly familiar to rags and Gooners saying we "have no history" and thus labelling 95% of teams by association in the same bracket.

Newcastle also have one of the best midfielders in the league, someone I knew would be a bargain buy - Cabaye.
