Newcastle, Everton, one or two others all think they’re bigger or similar size clubs to ours, like we did Chelsea so I expect the resentment of what has propelled us to our new and ongoing run of success.

I love this type of stuff. If Newcastle, Everton, Villa, Spurs etc got the same investment as us they'd be a bigger club. If my auntie had bollocks she'd be my uncle logic.

WE got the investment. If you're a fan of Villa and think they're bigger than City NOW, you need to give you head a wobble.

To be fair, I remember when we won away at Newcastle before the QPR game. Got stopped plenty of times on the walk back to the station by Newcastle fans saying well done. Maybe some of that good feeling has gone now but thought they were a good bunch that day

Yes they were very good that day, particularly as had they beaten us they would have been in line for a CL place. Me & my mates had a good time with them in the Centurion Bar after the match. I usually find them OK when we visit St James'. Every club has its quota of nobheads, ourselves included. Some of our travelling 'support' can be an embarrassment but fortunately for us they are very much in the minority.

Weirdest fans I’ve seen for a very long time. There’s nothing wrong with showing passion for your club , but most didn’t watch any of the game and just wanted a ruck. They’re cavemen and for some reason they’re either obese or look like they have cat aids , and nothing in between.

My wife is unfortunate enough to have family up there, the arrogance is shocking. Sunderland all the way for me. Great fans.

Visited a mate in Newcastle in 2003 and a few of the locals stated they hated all mancs even then

They seem to resent us having any success now even though we went through shit whilst our neighbours won trophies galore and still supported our team

Sunderland seem to be the complete opposite and it’s like Geordies are similar to Rags with a divine right to winning and Makems similar to us

Similar in London with West Ham compared to hatred of Spuds and Arse

When Chelsea won the lottery I loved the fact it was another team to put the Rags in their place

Had a good dust up with that lot that hang about outside the pub opposite where away coaches park at St James' when we went up for cup game years ago. Never seen so many coppers with dogs.

Was that the cup tie where Salano (I think) shoved Dunne(I think) over and scored.
It kicked off all over the City?
In the stands was arguably the loudest I've ever heard our fans.
I remember a big pub getting smashed up by fans trying to get in/out to fight each other.
Probably circa 2000?

Very true. I resented Blackburn, Newcastle, Chelsea etc when they found the riches any football fan wants. They’re lucky. Would they be the club we are if they existed in the same city as United?

Did you really resent those clubs getting investment? I am surprised. I didn't resent it at all, I enjoyed watching Blackburn pip united to the title on the last day and they were my "second club" all that season. Same with Newcastle under Keegan, I was desperate for them to win the title that year they capitulated and always liked the fact that the money Chelsea had enabled them to put the brakes on united's dominance. Not once did I begrudge any of those clubs, just hoped they would use their spending power to stop united.

Nail on head. It is amazing how many clubs' supporters who I used to think were ok have become so bitter about us getting a break. I do wonder how I would feel about Newcastle if they had been the ones Sheikh Mansour bought, I suspect I would have been fine and just been pleased that a struggling club who I had no problem with had got a break. But then I also think it is slightly different for City fans because whereas fans of most clubs seemed to resent Chelsea getting tons of cash, I was delighted because all I saw was a club who could stop those red ****s winning the league every season.
