Well, it was a win, but not a great performance, though I think a lot of that was because of the Spanish waiter's defensive tactics and lack of ambition. Newcastle really were disappointing.
Two great strikes for our goals and it was fantastic to see Kyle finally score his first for City.
No outstanding performances, but no poor ones either. My MotM was Dinho closely followed by Big John.
Finally, it was great to meet and have a nice chat with @jimharri before the game.

Slow, poor defending and shoddy going forward.
Dreadful performance.
Without Kevin's drive we are not at the races.
Mendy went to sleep and cost us a goal. He only got a couple of crosses in behind the back line as well.
Aguero was crap. Wrong decision virtually every time. The one on one with the keeper at the end was his match in a nutshell. Didn't chip the keeper, managed to retain possession and with two City players to his right who could pass it in to the net, then decided to shoot to hit the corner flag.
Glad we won but we wont win the title again playing like that.

Mendy wasn't as good today because Newcastle had worked him out. As soon as he got the ball they blocked him in with 3 defenders.
Benitez did his homework, no doubt he studied the Huddersfield game. Newcastle defenders conceded zero space and time with the ball in the flanks.

Not the greatest game we will see but it's hard when teams don't want to attack.
We are not anywhere near 100% yet but we still won.
Can't believe how many times Raz was fouled without any of the barcodes getting a card.
We need to move the ball quicker.

A win. Lots of work to be done. Not convinced all this changing personnel and formations are helping.

Didnt play at all well today so laboured and lacking invention However we make it hard on ourselves by missing at least three sitters EVERY MATCH Its hard enough finding spaces when were up against a parked bus but when we get a chance ffs finish it. Only early days but a team more capable would have beaten us today It goes without saying we miss KDB
