Newcastle Thread - 2023/24

This is them before the rigors of champions league midweek games hits their league form hard. They're really not a good side right now, a lot of average players sprinkled with some class, makes you realise just how fucking shit the likes of liverpool, spurs and chelsea were last season to finish below this newcastle side.

City, scousers, Brighton isn’t an easy run though.

True and I'm sure they'll pick up when the fixture list gets a bit more forgiving but with the exception of us, you have to be winning you're fair share of those games if you want top 4, liverpool last week were on their arse asking to be finished and they somehow lost and today they looked miles off brighton. Those potential top 4/5 games are only going to be harder from now on with 3 games a week about to start.

Agreed and they have kept the same tactics as last season, which teams will have worked out better now too.

Look how Liverpool and Arsenal are both trying to play like we did with Stones in midfield. It’s knackered both their setups, whereas Pep has decided that this season is going to be sponsored by dribbling.

It feels like Mark Hughes at City. I like Howe but after last weekends dire dire result and this one, its becoming clear he isn't the one to take them further. Not right now anyway.

If they look like not getting CL football I think they will ditch him. Or assassinate him.

A one way ticket to Istanbul just arrived in his post.

I just rewound the discussion from Wright on MOTD about this young Ferguson hat trick because I thought how many times can you say ‘you know’ or ‘ya know’ and (yes I do have a life) he said those 2 words 22 times in that one discussion!!! Twenty two times you know!!
He needs booting for some new blud. Don’t find his analysis anything out of the ordinary or informative. The show is a bit stale.

Has he been called into their Embassy office yet?

Their signings for a Premier League Champions League qualifying side has been poor.

Tonali, Barnes, Livramento, Hall, all decent players in their own individual right but when we qualified for the Champions League for the first time we went out and got Aguero and Nasri and that was to already compliment Yaya, Silva, Balotelli, Milner the season before.

They unexpectedly got 4th way ahead of schedule but have done nothing to cement it.

Carragher was spot on when he said he would expect Newcastle to make the signings they have if they had finished 8th.

You can’t qualify for the Champions League again when Targett, Burn, Longstaff and Almiron are in your starting XI.

That’s 2 of the big 6 out of the race already for the title Newcastle and Chelsea

At half time ,Redknapp was discussing the first Brighton goal. He layed the blame onto the new lad from Milan. I forget his name. Anyhow no mention of the ridiculous clearance by Pope or the shite defending from Trippier. Typical English seige mentality. Fuck the Jonny foreigners
