Was 11 when we won the league cup in 76 so only vague memories , started going regular in my teens and never thought I'd see us win anything again , cried like a baby when we won the fa cup , enjoy every moment mate , just be prepared for the hatred when it becomes a regular thing

I have always enjoyed League Cup Finals as much (if not more then the FA Cup) You always get more tickets, more hard core fans, and less corporates. Those who deride the trophy have never experienced the sheer joy of winning a trophy at Wembley. My first League Cup win was in 1970 (West Brom). Best wishes to all Geordies.

More tickets and also much cheaper tickets.
And I was also at the 1970 final, I went down on the coach from Middleton with some school pals.
And we walked from Alkrington to Fountain Street, Middleton in thick snow.
 
I loved winning the league cup in the late 90s after a turgid decade. Also in 2008. A trophy is a trophy after all. Acting arrogant and dismissive over other clubs triumphs is what I expect from United fans in the 90s/2000s and Liverpool fans in general. Hopefully the Toon can push on from here as they're going in the right direction.
 
Incredible day yesterday - had become so used to the idea that I'd be dead and gone without ever seeing us win anything I'm still not sure it's properly sunk in but no mater what happens not sure anything will top this.

As I said earlier in the thread, it took me a while to really appreciate the fact that we’d won a trophy in 2011, so I’m not surprised you’re feeling that way.

Totally understandable mate. I'd always hoped we'd win something/ANYthing that we could celebrate in my lifetime, but never fully believed we ever would or even could. I remember walking round our city centre in 2011 in total amazement, blue and blues everywhere. Grown men crying with absolute joy. Fucking brilliant isn't it? :) Buzzing for your fanbase man.
 
Geordies enjoy your day its been a long time coming and revel in the fact you can out celebrate Arsenal this season - over 5 years for them now - they will have to free off the brakes on their bus before they can use it next lol
