Supposedly Newcastle are going to play kids but their Saudi overlords may want to see Silverwear soon and this might be their best chance.

No way will we play kids unless they’re seen as good enough. I would love Lewis Miley to get a game as he has a massive future and I think he's ready to play now, even at 17. Watch his composure if he does play as he looks like a kid and plays like a 27 year old for calmness. The cheeky little bastard came on for his debut after just turning 17 last season and he almost hit the winner when he hit their bar.

I know Chelsea didn’t perform last season but it still takes balls for a kid to try and win the game having just turned 17 days earlier, Stanford Bridge is still a big stage.

The stage fright they suffered in last seasons final spilled over into their league form.
They might want to give it a miss this year especially as qualifying out of that group in the Champions league would be a massive statement from the club as a whole.

Regardless I still think we can beat them up there

Either team can win this one.

i’m fascinated by those who talk shit about city and newcastle and at the same time hope and pray for their own sheik to save them. it’s hilarious!

about the club world cup at the same time as the next league cup round, why wouldn’t they reschedule the cup game to give a chance to an english club to win an international trophy? seems insane to me as an outsider.

Quite a few of our fans were bitter when you were taken over and I always put them right.

Well I’m greedy I want us to win every trophy that we can,so that means winning on Wednesday night, but if we do get knocked out it won’t be the end of the world,as things stand the wolves away game on Saturday is more important ..

Anybody think that with Pep being flippant about playing himself, he's sort of in the mindset of being ready to bin this competition off? Surprises me, because he likes to win everything, but the injury situation being what it is…

I think he's just trying to give us a false sense of hope and I'm not buying it.

Thanks, I appreciate that as I come on here to talk about football and no matter how well we do, I'll never forget where we've been. I must admit that I like this forum, I can't remember seeing anybody acting like a cock but that might just be because of the threads I'm more likely to go into.

I can be 100% honest and say that I was gutted when you were taken over because it could have been us as Ashley was contacted but he hadn’t become hated at that time so it was still his toy. I’ve never once had a go at Man City for winning the lottery, even though I was envious and would have swapped positions in the blink of an eye.

The fact that we’ve now also won the lottery means we have something in common, as well as both having been shite and supported probably better than either team deserved at times.

Both clubs deserve success, if others don’t like that, great, that’s a bonus.
When we went out to Abu Dhabi for a club event at the Emirates Palace back in the day, they said Mike Ashley had been staying there the week before looking to do a deal.

We were contacted before you were bought out. I'm not saying for one minute that they would have chosen us over you, only that they were looking and Ashley wouldn't speak to them and I got that from very high up at our club at the time. I think one of the shitty rags reported it at a later date.

Actually, I've just seen this on here https://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/threads/adug-and-newcastle.124148/

This is a perfect game to see if Kalvin can step up in Rodri's absence or not. If we lose it's not that big a deal and might be a blessing in disguise as we already have a lot of games and we don't have the biggest squad especially if you factor in the injuries we have. Hopefully Rico and Oscar Bobb get some decent gametime as well.
