We’re levels above Newcastle and everyone else for that matter.

The job this week is to sign the players we need to make sure that injuries or suspensions don’t prevent our quality from making the difference at the sharp end of the season.

Think it’s no surprise the team play better with Dias in the side. Colossal. Seeing pep look so proud of the players in his interview was nice to see. Very lucky to watch this special side.

For me the most impressive thing with these players is the mentality. Dias is the embodiment of that. We are incredibly blessed to witness this.

Really hard game that, as expected. They’re the hardest team to play against in this league.

Considering the things going against us tonight (lack of numbers, tiredness from Wednesday) that is pound-for-pound one of our best performances of the last few years.

Pep operates a meritocracy so KP getting what he deserves. I cannot understand how the same scouting team who bought Kovacic also sanctioned a move for KP. Surely there were better options available?

I watched that Amazon documentary about him just before the season started. He seems like a decent lad (his Dad is in prison but he was happy to discuss it openly and his tough upbringing) I hope he makes it.

Is there not some rules in place where you have to have a certain number of English players (or academy players) in the squad, was that not one factor in his transfer-in?

Good controlled performance by City. That was a potential banana skin after a midweek game played in suffocating heat. I don't think Newcastle ever really troubled us. I had my concerns with all the absences but at the end of the game I can't say they were missed.
Great to see a full stadium on 90 mins too, lots of singing on the road down to Piccadilly. Great three points to get this early in the season.

It really was. I loved Haaland’s little smile after he put the ball out off of some Toon defender in stoppage time whilst mucking about in the corner. He may not have scored, but he was having a great time and celebrating even the little bits that go towards securing a good win.

Wingers are more important to me. Walker was the only person occupying the right wing which we don’t want and Grealish needs to do more.

First of all I'm not arguing, I'm expressing my opinion and secondly, you think I don't want to win every game?

What I'm trying to say is we could be 6 points ahead of Arsenal at that point or we could be 6 points behind them, but that won't necessarily make a difference at the end of the season. It hasn't for 5 of the past 6. Obviously I'd much prefer us to be 6 points (or whatever) in front but it's not going to decide who wins the title. The only thing that will decide that is who is in front after 38 games. It's like every time we play another top 4 side it's a "six pointer" according to the media or it's a must-win. It isn't. We could lose and still win the title. It's not that difficult to understand.

For the record, I don't think Arsenal will finish first or second.

Just got in. Thought it was a high quality and physical game of football credit to both teams. We had to dig deep and were running on empty while they piled the pressure on. They had subs come on and we didn't. Our lads are fucking ridiculous players hats off. Great 3 points.

Also, atmosphere was electric in the south stand tonight loved it!
