For those wondering why no subs. Pep just doesn't like making them in tight games as he thinks it takes incoming players too long to adjust to the pace of the game and it could cost us more than leaving on tired players.

Fantastic performance, makes the journey back to South Wales now all the better. Fine absolutely superb. Players dead on their feet but gave their all. Kova played well, and Eddy also. Akanji did what was asked of him. A weeks rest now and hopefully a couple of additions. The team gave their all tonight!! Good atmosphere.

What a performance what a result never ever take anything away from this bunch of players and Pep. Down to the bare bones and the players gave absolutely everything, Foden stepped up big time and Kovacic looks the real deal . Geordies were really disappointing for the supposed pretenders to our throne.

We controlled it so well, played some really sweet one touch stuff around them, they had to resort to trying to kick the fuck out of us.

Phil was immense, Kova linked with him and Rodri like he’d been here forever, and our defence is organised and rock like.

Loved that game, sexy stuff.
