Only half there. Sweet Navas! Yaya made more passes than any player on the park - 10 more than any City player and over 30 more than any opponent- with 92% pass completion. His pass to Dzeko to help create the first goal was superb and crucial. He also made 9 ball recoveries; more than any team mate.
I Was Looking at the stats for Yaya Somewhere earlier Today? Very impressive. He Did seem quiet Today but Maybe I just expect the spectacular everytime and miss Everything Else.

That's exactly my point.. Stats aside he just seemed a bit more subdued today. Class player but we just always expect so much from him. His pass to dzeko was pretty special.

Only looked subdued cos he was back deeper in the sensible holding role alongside new-boy Fernando. Partly prob just to help him through the early season games and partly til Fernandinho get's up to speed to sit in alongside Fernando. Was released when Dinho came in, but I love him in that deeper role as much as I do his advanced role. The flick of a ball to Edin for the first goal is something very few players can do. Like his goal at Wembley in the Cap one final it's impossible to spot by the opposition. Deft, silky, sublime, all of the above.

Just watched the SKY highlights, we looked very good for the first game, for the most part, if we don't win the league with this squad, somebody is going to have to be exceptional, it won't be united.

It took us until October 19th to win away last year !

I'm in complete agreement. I've seen several negative comments about several players, but honestly thought it was a very decent first match of the year for the squad.

Although we always seem to manage it just recently, going to Newcastle in their first home game of the season, the crowd all full of hope and passion, new players and fresher than ours and to win 2-0 is a great result!

I am not sure about players feeling jaded so do i,it seems like only a couple of weeks since the West Ham game and the title celebrations!

Considering we hardly picked up any points from our first six away last season and still won the league,it is ominious for the rest if we hit the ground running, post world cup etecetera.
