Next academy stars?

Bookmarked for when they've all been moved on in 18 months without getting a chance and then people saying they were never good enough to play for us.*

*Hope I'm wrong.
They will get the chance if they are good enough, unfortunately you or I are not the judge's on that.
The crop of Acadamy players that have left over the last 5 seasons, we're competing for place's with some of the greatest players, this club has ever seen and with the odd exception, they were always going to be moved on.
The present crop may have a better chance of succeeding as the bar at the moment is a lot lower, with the demise of the first team this season.
As someone on here has rightly pointed out, talent can take you so far, but without the right application, you will never succeed.
We all like the idea of local talent succeeding but the reality is that 99% of City's fan base would not swap the last decade, so that they could accommodate a couple of Acadamy graduates.

I appreciate and agree with all of that but we've suffered this season because of a poor contingency plan and a lack of foresight. Foden has been the only real success story during Pep's tenure although others have hinted at promise. Some dross has been bought at the expense of giving youngsters a chance and if the youth see that the pathway to the first team is blocked then no wonder many of them see their opportunity elsewhere.
However, this is not a dig at Pep (well, perhaps a minor one). The success he's brought us is immeasurable and he'll be a legend forever. I wouldn't have missed it for the world and long may it continue. I come from a different era when we always had a youngster or two in the lineup so maybe I'm wearing rose-tinted glasses.
Anyway, enough from me and keep flying the flag against our haters. CTID (obviously).

20 wins on the spin for the U18 tells the tale of a superb group. I hope to see Mukasa, McAidoo, Gorman, Headley, Braithwaite, and Mfuni breaking through. The gap is huge, and there are no guarantees, but this is a seriously talented crop, IMO.
That to me is the crux, superb as a group, do they have the belief to break through as a individual.
Those are the ones that will succeed

Chelsea are poaching one of the most highly rated within our academy. The star of one of the best age groups we've had - revenge for McAidoo...

I've been asked by my Rochdale supporting mate what I know of him. The answer is nothing so I thought I'd throw it out here, see if anyone does.

I really rate him. Similar potential to Trafford in my opinion.

Made some massive saves in big matches last season. Also solid with the ball at his feet and doesn't seem prone to clangers.

Wait, didn't Forest adopt the obligation to buy him when they took him on loan?
No he’s back training with loans group currently. He didn’t have first team involvement at Forest and It looks like he was on the fringes of the starting 11 in Forest u21 team last season for whatever reason, so it would have been a suprise if they would stump up the cash. A good chance to get things back on track in the championship.

Hopefully not another Jayden Braaf
