I still think that we lack a true leader on the field.
Kolo is excellent at organising the defence, but you don't really get the impression that he lifts the team when it needs lifting, nor that he is the one voice of the dressing room.
NDJ just isn't a leader, I don't see how people think he is really. Putting in a shift doesn't make you a leader, he doesn't seem to have much of a voice about him off the pitch, and on the pitch he's quite shouty, which tends to piss guys like Richards off.
Barry is apparently pretty quiet in the dressing room, so I would imagine he would be a poor captain.
Shay is a goalkeeper, who tend to make poor captains, with one or two exceptions.
Out of everyone, I think Ireland should get it. He's the lifeblood of the club, he's well liked, he can put a shift in, and he'll die for the shirt. Whether or not he can gain the respect of the top players, I'm not sure, but if he could or has, then he's excellent captain material.
Ireland for me, all day long.
