Next Captain

You can always hear Joe shouting "come on lads" or words to that effect in the tunnel cams on the official site. He's very vocal and gives very direct post match interviews. Definitely captain material.
Should of been made England captain for sure

I'd stick with Vinny assuming he gets his form back.

I'm never too keen on goalies or forwards as captains but I think Joe could quite well get it in the future.
He's likely to be the last player from the current spine of the first team left in a few years time and would then be the obvious candidate
as the old head and link to the past.

There's no rush.

Vinnie is out for at least another two weeks.

Joe is injured.

Many posters want to see Yaya benched.

So who should be captain?

Pick the strongest formation/players to give you the best chance of winning then decide who should captain the team. I believe this should be the case in any sport football, cricket, rugby even pub darts. If you have to move other players around and weaken your team just to crowbar the captain in, then you need a new captain.

Kolarov, NEVER, EVER, EVER Toure. If Joe or Zabaleta are not on the field then Kolarov should step up. If we don't have Kompany of course & that's looking less & less likely before Christmas. Another Bleak Midwinter methinks.

I would make Joe vice captain on a long term basis. In the very short run, Fernandinho.

The difficulty in finding a stand-out candidate says something about our current situation.
