Doesn't matter if he had been signed or he is a seasoned veteran at the club If he is strong leader then he is one of the candidates for the vice captain role.

Doesn't matter the team looks lost in Kompany's absence (especially in the big games) and Alves would be one of the strongest candidates to cover that. Doesn't make the slightest bit of differences if he had been here for 5 minutes or has been here since the take over.

of course it does, how you think the other players in the team who wanted to be captain would feel with some new guy coming in, managers special boy and he is given the captaincy! Would cause upset in the squad I think

Thiago Silva was appointed PSG captain as soon as he signed for them despite him not speaking French.
