Next Manager after Pep

In an ideal world we’d as a majority want it to happen at some point for sure. However an ideal world it is not.

Let’s see how Burnley finish this season after a stunning start under VK’s (early) tenure. If they come up and he does well again…I’d still be hesitant.

He needs (for me) to go into a club that have been underperforming despite their input, who expect results and success to see how he can do - a team like Everton or West Ham as an example.

I’d still hate to see him as an opposition through…
Why?

Arteta walked right into Arsenal, going round all the teams isn't always required, I would be happy if he was at Burnley for 3 seasons and Pep stayed here and then and only if Pep is leaving and VK has continued playing good football then I would bring him home no question.

Let’s remember who Arteta worked with in a coaching role beforehand though.

But your points are fair enough. I think the ‘good football’ part is a big one though. Doing it for Burnley is one thing, but to then come back to us and do it with a team (who at this point - know who he is, but never played with him, and are massive stars) is a huge challenge.

Someone who doesn’t think the game is like fuckin rocket science and plays players where they’re good at playing ie in their rightful positions would be a good start!

True and something I found odd that we seem willing to blood other teams legend's as our coaches but our own leave.
We had Vierra all over the club before he left after NY and Arteta came along to pick the masters brains and fucked off, he was never waiting here for a chance, absoltely no intention at all.
One thing in Vk's favour is his intelligence, he is hardly a Gerrard needing a number two to do the work behind the scenes.
Still, it is no guarantee of success but nor will a tired out ex Spain manager.
:)
