Seriously please tell me. I'm not a native English speaker you know, and I use this forum to better my English, so I honestly would appreciate you telling me what/where I did go wrong, cause I can't figure it out.

It is my onion, and not a fact, that Kun has not improved since he got here and that he can be so much better than what he has shown us so far.

£32m is the figure that The Telegraph are reporting. I know we're coming into the sale season but that's just silly.

£32m is a bargain. And considering just how much money that is, it really says something about Neymar's talent

No chance in hell we would get him for that price. We are talking upwards of £50M imo..

Begiristain spent two days in South America to open discussions to buy the 20-year-old striker at the end of the season, which would be a bold shake-up to their strike-force and raise further question marks over the future of Mario Balotelli.

City are aware they will face strong competition from Barcelona should Neymar’s club Santos finally be persuaded to sell. Chelsea and Real Madrid have also previously thought they had agreements to sign Neymar, who is valued at around £32m (40m euros), only for the deals to stall.

There is pressure on the player to remain in Brazil until after the 2014 World Cup but City have been encouraged that Santos might sell next summer and Begiristain felt that by flying to Sao Paulo he would reinforce their intent.

It was left to midfielder Gareth Barry to score the winning goal for the champions in stoppage time against Reading yesterday to ensure City kept the pressure on Manchester United in the Premier League title race. City are now three points behind United ahead of the leaders’ match at Swansea today.

“It was difficult clearly, because we had a lot of possession and had the chances but didn’t score,” City manager Roberto Mancini said. “Our support know we try until the last seconds – always.”

Mancini added that he wasn’t sure his heart could take many more last-minute winners from his side.

“I’m very happy but we’ve had a lot of games like today,” said Mancini. “My heart is not strong enough to take it! That win could probably be the difference come the end of the season. I hope so. Our attitude is good. We kept our concentration until the very end.”

City are in the market for at least one new striker with manager Roberto Mancini also having travelled to Madrid last month to hold talks with Radomel Falcao’s representatives — although it appears increasingly like that the Atletico Madrid striker will either move to Chelsea or Real Madrid at the end of the season. It is not thought that Falcao, who has a £48m release clause in his contract, will leave Atletico in the January transfer window.

Chelsea’s interim manager Rafael Benítez said that Fernando Torres has told him he would welcome competition for his place — with the club also including Demba Ba as one of the strikers on their list of possible targets as well as Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain.

Ideally Chelsea would like to finally persuade Bayer Leverkusen to sell the German international Andre Schurrle — although he is not a central striker — after having bids of £15.5m and close to £20m rejected last summer. Leverkusen continue to insist they will not sell in January.

“The problem in January is which one,” Benítez said when asked whether Chelsea would be making a signing. “Which player is available and which one is good enough to be here in a top side. It is not easy, but we will be positive about this and Fernando is ready to fight for his position. He is now enjoying is football.”

Chelsea will also continue to monitor Theo Walcott’s contract situation at Arsenal and would like to acquire him an a 'free’ next summer. It is hoped that Daniel Sturridge will complete a £12m move to Liverpool once the window opens.

Manchester City have charged new sporting director Txiki Begiristain with the task of finding the next Lionel Messi.

Sunday Mirror Sport can reveal that the Premier League champions are to undertake a serious recruitment push in South America as they look to bring in the best young players from around the world, ahead of the opening of the club’s new Academy in 2014.

Begiristain spent seven years in the same post at Barcelona, where he became an expert in the identification process that saw Messi, then aged 11, signed by the Catalan club.

And he is now ­re-establishing his contacts in a bid to make City serious global players in youth development. Begiristain spent the week talking to his network of scouts and agents in Brazil – prompting suggestions the Blues were about to make a raid for £60m-rated Barcelona target Neymar.

He is scheduled to spend more time travelling around South America in the New Year to ensure City get first refusal on the region’s top young players. A City insider said: “South America is an important breeding ground for talent and it was felt that this was an area of the world where our scouting network had to be improved.

“Players such as Aguero, Zabaleta and Tevez have been big successes at City, but the key now is to recruit players like this at an early age, so that we can develop them ourselves.”

The Neymar "deal" could as much be a decoy hidding the real target Tixi is scouting there in Brazil.

Anyway, Neymar won't be a signing of £32M, you are looking at nothing less than £40M~£50M.
Can we still offer to reach that kind of target ?

I don't think him being nailed on for Barcelona is nearly as nailed on as anyone would like to believe. Neymar will want to be the crown jewel in whatever team he joins. Barca have Messi, Real have Ronaldo, and the only one of those two likely to be shunted for Neymar certainly isn't Messi.

I don't think he would ever genuinely want to come here, but we have lots of very good players and yet our biggest 'superstar' is still Balotelli. There's certainly room here for him to become huge. Our Manc derbies are outstripping everything for viewing figures too. We're providing one of the biggest stages in the world.

City is a big boys club, Neymar still needs to prove that he can play with big boys........

Aguero was only 34million, no chance a completely unproven kid with a diving problem and a bad attitude is even close to 50million.

52 goals in 104 games when you're playing for the best team in a terrible league isn't exactly setting the world a light is it? Far too big a risk to pay anything close to 50.

Neymar... sounds almost too good to be true.

I just feel Mancini is not nearly the right type of manager to nurture Neymar and his talent.
He'd be the only Brazilian here and would have to work under a manager who doesn't even know how to spell man-management. At his young age I fear those two issues would be of major concern.

Then again, he might not be the one and only Brazilian in the squad after this coming summer, and who knows... maybe a certain currently unemployed Spaniard known to work extremely well with young talented players and praised for his man-managerial skills will then be our manager?

He had Messi at Barcelona.
