Neymar

we have two players of absolute quality that can play right back (Walker and Cancello).

If we get Cucurela we have two players of absolute quality that can cover left back (Cancello and Cucurella) plus Ake who can also play there and plays well there (but doesnt add the attacking side- defensively however is very good there)

It would take a series of injuries/suspensions to have to play stones there and we also have Wilson-Esbrand who is on the tour, made his debut last season and could break through as well in an emergency.

I dont think there is any need to be fearful for the season.
We haven't signed Cucurela and what happens when Cancello is out for 2+ months? We are out of options for both left and right back and forced to play a centre back in one or even two of the positions if say walker also gets injured during this time. This means we won't be able to attack down one side of the pitch. The exact thing happened towards the end of last season when we we're beaten in the champions league, knocked out of the fa cup and almost blew the league as well. It's not a series of injuries or suspensions it's a reliance on one player (cancelo) being available for all the campaign. We need a left back

Off the top of my head Haaland, Grealish, Mahrez and Walker were all ruled to be “not pep players” at varying points before Pep bought them.

As an aside, in Pep Confidential there’s a big passage about how Neymar was the signing Pep really wanted to kick off his first season at Bayern but the board decided Mario Götze was a more appropriate signing for him.
Still feel the cons outweigh the pros. Signing a 30 year old for 60m+ on huge wages seems a short term signing. Saw on tweeter that he's signed an extension with wages of €700k a week so would need to ta Then in 18 to 24 months time we'd be looking at replacing Kev, Mahrez & Neymar.
If he signs thou he could be the catalyst with Haaland to win the ucl

I know we havent signed Cucurella....whether or not we get him or not its clear we are after a left back so someone will come in in that position

Why will Cancello be out for 2 months?

We won the league playing Delph at fullback, we won the league with Zinchenko at fullback

We werent able to attack down one or the other side at various points last season

If we cant use fullbacks to attack then Pep reverts to classic wingers now we have a player like Haaland in the middle.

We didnt almost blow the league...we were never ever that far ahead as many people would have had you believe including fans on here and the media.....the scousers had those 2 games in hand and it was always going to be close ...

We do need a left back (ive never said we dont)....whether thats Cucurella or someone else BUT IF we dont get one then I would imagine Pep/city wont let Zinchenko go ...i was asking why someone thought we were getting 2 fullbacks

I also asked the question about the young Brazilian lad that was out on load last year (right back...cant remember his name.....)

In none of the situations above were the selling club actively trying to offload them. Selling clubs don't generally try and push who they see as their best players out.

In this case it's probably financially motivated and they don't see the value in keeping him compared to what the cost of his overinflated contract is.
City weren't trying to offload Sterling, he had a contract that he didn't want to sign, entered his last year & the club had a decision to make

Then don't said it as 100% certainty that we will lose a league with Stones as RB, that's overreaction.
I can only remember one game that Stones played well at right back in, at home to Brentford.

All the other times he’s played right back, he’s been dire there.

The more games Stones plays at right back, the lower down the league we may finish.

Rewatch the first half of the Villa game to refresh your memory, if you need.
