Neymar

I still haven’t ruled out @93.20blue using an extreme rumour to try and flush out the bluemoon leaks into the media. Neymar isn’t an easy rumour to commit to for genuine journalists so much easier to see who jumped on to it… Tolmie did similar a week or so back but much less blatant.
Can I ask how posting on a public forum to everyone is flushing out rumours? Are you that gullible?

Nobody in the media has said about Neymar so they can rest assure that even the most desperate journalist thinks what they post aren't worth rehashing then.

Twitter wannabe ITK'S.
Flushed!

Absolutely. I want him to come and succeed just to make fools of the idiots who claim he’s not a Pep player (despite the avalanche of proof that Pep loves him) and doesn’t work hard (despite the stats that show he works harder than some of our stars). Cognitive dissonance on a grand scale with some of these eejits.
Pep admires great footballers and doesn't mind saying it, don't mean he's interested in having them in his team.

Personally I think Neymar is a fantastic player. He's quick, fast feet and has plenty of tricks. He's not just a tricks merchant though, he is a brilliant footballer. Sadly, he's let himself down by going to PSG for the money and it has tarnished his career and reputation. Outside of Messi and Ronaldo, I think he's probably the best of the rest.

When we played PSG I thought he pulled all the strings for them, every attack went through him. His movement and ability to pick out a pass was brilliant and I thought if we could stop him, we'd stop PSG. No one else in that side stood out as much as he did.

I think people get hung up on the diving. Neymar, Ronaldo etc etc dive because they are told to by their managers, simple as that. Sadly, in the modern game, if you don't dive you will lose out - remember Foden not diving and not getting the penalty a while back?

I honestly don't think he will come to City, I don't think his profile would fit the club. He's high profile, big wages and seems to want to be the "big name" at Barcelona and PSG. He's not our type. We don't go for "mega stars", and yes I know Haaland is a mega star to some extent. However, he is a world class talent. I just don't think we'd go in for him, but by the same token if the club think they can do a sensible deal then I'm absolutely sure Pep will make him the best player in the world.

I'm sure that every club in Europe would like him if the money was right. Of course, as PSG paid double what he was worth and are paying him ludicrous wages, they are going to struggle to find another club who are able to pay him probably a third of what he's on.

Good post that, the only thing I would say where is he going to go if not us.

It wouldn't surprise me if Newcastle were in for him - they will have the money and they'd love a "Robinho" type signing. Whether he would go is another matter mind. However, he'd probably get the say on who to bring in and they would mould the whole team to his game. Given their form after January, with him in the side they would definitely push for a top 4 spot.

I don't see Chelsea or United going in for him either. I am getting the feeling that Tuchel and Ten Haag want good "teams" without dramas. I don't think anyone in Europe has the big money have they? I just don't see him as a City player either and we don't spend big as a rule (Grealish apart).

The way I see it is we hold all the cards on this one. He will want us and PSG want rid. I could see a 2 year loan with PSG paying a big chunk of his wages. If and it’s a big if Pep could control him (behaviour) he would be just brilliant in this city team.

He is a fantastic player who would add quality. The image is not relevant. No one knows if he wants to be the big name or not. He is 30 now and maybe just maybe he wants a challenge and a chance to play under pep. We would destroy teams with him running down the wing. PSG most dangerous player when we played them.

I would love it to happen but can’t see it unfortunately. Seems complicated and city tend to stay away from such deals.

All true mate and I'm sure that he would love to link up with Pep again. Seriously, Pep would make him into Messi wouldn't he?

I know we tend to stay away from complicated deals, but I bet the Haaland one was a shocker. I think it's more a case of we identify the players we want and go in and get them. If it's a free for all, we walk away. I can't think of any transfers off the top of my head that we walked away from that we ended up regretting (Alexis Sanchez, Fred, Jorginho, Kouliably).

We get a left back and we’re done apart from this one. I can see us being happy if it does or doesn’t happen. There is a space for him for sure. I personally think it will happen :).
