I know we tend to stay away from complicated deals, but I bet the Haaland one was a shocker. I think it's more a case of we identify the players we want and go in and get them. If it's a free for all, we walk away. I can't think of any transfers off the top of my head that we walked away from that we ended up regretting (Alexis Sanchez, Fred, Jorginho, Kouliably).

Pep would definitely get a tune out of him if he is willing to listen. You only have to read past comments to see the respect is mutual.
