Neymar

He'll only be another Robinho.
A good player, but will never be in the top or so players in the world like people were predicting. He'd just end up on massive wages, scoring an average amount of goals every season.
We'd be better off with Ricky Lambert, a proper hard working goal scoring striker.

Dead serious. Neymar is playing against defenders comparable to Championship/League 1 defenders. He would be a 15 goal a season striker, on crazy wages and for a crazy transfer fee.
Ricky Lambert has around 11 goals for a very poor Southampton side with not a lot of creativity. He's cost around 5m on a low wage and he'd be able to score 15 goals.
I'm not saying we should sign Lambert, but I'd sign him before Neymar.

He's also playing surrounded by (relatively) piss poor players. Imagine him with David, Yaya, Aguero and the like.

Exactly.
If he was younger, maybe around 25, he'd already be at United, Chelsea, City, Arsenal, Totthenham etc.

Despite pre-deal, Barcelona president Rosell is nervous about other clubs' interest in Neymar and wants Vilanova to give his ok soon. [elc]

Of course it will be Txiki......If we want to evolve as a club into a potential global force then what is required is a signing capable of not just being a top class player but one that will generate vast profits in other revenues.

The staus we are at now we have to look at the bigger picture, imagine if Neymar was to sign for City, we would be global news in every country because he is coveted by the press in the same way that Messi is, kids and older people alike all over will be buying his shirt.

That is what the bigger picture is.

And to the people who tar Brazilians with the same brush as Robinho - then you seem to forget that there has been successful Brazilian players that have played in the Premiership before.

Sent off for the 5th time in his career!!!

Exceptional successes will be rare, tbh.

Although I loved watching Gilberto Silva in his pomp for Arsenal. A brilliant DM.

As for present day, there's only Rafael & Ramires who are either proving to be, or could end up being very good PL players for years to come. I'm not convinced with Sideshow Bob.

Sandro and Oscar look good players, Lucas isn't bad either.
Juninho was another "exceptional success"

Fuck me sideways, I completely forgot about Sandro & Oscar. As for Lucas, I'd have Sandro any day.

Nah, but he was anonymous against an English side in its home stadium in the dead of winter for an international friendly with teammates that he's not very familiar with. Overrated.

Sarcasm aside, he'd be a massive signing for us, and those here that deny it are severely confused. Even if he flopped like Mario on the pitch, he'd bring us massive attention on the world stage.

That's all that matters, Ibra was shit and overrated for most English fans and football media until he scored hat trick vs England.

Then they suddenly found out there's a guy who won 8 consecutive league titles in 3 different leagues scoring or assisting a goal per game through his whole career.

Oscar has played 25 games - next
Sandro could be but isn't yet 'exceptional'
Juninho was a luxury in the mould of Kinkladze, he was far from 'exceptional'

I'll give you Ramires who is very gifted and consistent, Gilberto as well!

Sandro is extremely underrated, it's wrong to consider him anything less than a success IMO. Since joining Spurs he's been linked with Real Madrid and City, he was the most productive holding midfielder in the league before his injury. A fantastic underrated player just as good as De Jong was defensively with far more going forward.

Rafael is also doing well at United despite the obvious hate he gets on here. Ferguson would have sold him if he was useless.

There have been quite a few Brazilian failures here but in the end it's all down to the individual and his mentality, not the nationality. Sylvinho for example had a perfect attitude and had he come to City 10 years earlier when he was part of Arsenal's stunning team, he would have been considered one of our all-time great left-backs.

I think he'll end up in spain. Its the easier option for him.

Although if he does come here the off the pitch side of things it would be a huge success but as for on the pitch he has all the technical ability but there's still questions over his mentality, and we could end up with another mario situation.

Bizness is picking up. I'd normally dismiss it in the Mail but Sale is very knowledgeable and has a special column that deals a lot on financial related football stuff with a lot of legit ITK information.

I'd say all things being equal we wouldn't be in the top 5-7 pole positions for his services. And rightly so. He would flop here.
