As a fellow Packers fan - you spoke to soon. And against the NFL Rags affiliates. Not sure what happened there. We hammered out of the blocks 10 points up but the O line and Rogers went to shit almost like a switch was thrown.

Re my other team.
@roman totale @Manc in London - You played the Steelers in top form on both sides of the ball, only going to be one winner. Getting excited for this team.

Yesterday was a bit of a sickener. We were brought down to earth. Steelers were better in every single department. The game highlighted every single weakness we have. That's what was so deflating. We have to accept that whilst we have improved we are way off being the finished product. Watching the game, it does appear that Steelers are probably better equipped than any other team to take advantage of our weaknesses.

Mayfield had a poor game. Granted, he was carrying a knock but I think he would have struggled anyway as the Steelers were blitzing regularly and he is not the quickest decision maker. He often struggles if he does not make his first read. Better quarterbacks would have exploited the backfield more effectively during the blitz. I want him to do well and he should be given until the end of the year before we decide if we should regard him as the franchise QB we have needed for a long time. He deserves more time to prove himself as he has been in the NFL for three years and played under three different coaches.

The Steelers look real strong on defence and offence. No glaring weakness for me. The game was further evidence that Claypole is going to be an absolute star. Imagine being able to put on the field someone who can act as a wide receiver, tight end and auxillary running back.

I have had £25 on the Steelers to win the Superbowl following a tip from my mate who is into the NFL. Pretty confident at this point

We will have a better idea after they have played the Titans, Bills and Ravens in the next few weeks. They will provide tougher match-ups.

I am not sure so sure blitzing so much will work against the teams with the better quarterbacks.

Great analysis and I’m not going to argue with any of it.
All I’d add is Baker did an abysmal job with his snap counts yesterday - which is something wholly irrelevant to an injury. We should've had 5-6 penalties drawn if we would've just gone with a hard count more frequently. There were a number of plays where the Steelers were out of their stances or in full stride before the ball was snapped. That also would've helped our tackles because they wouldn't have had to play on their heels against an opponent who was guessing the snap count and beating us off the ball.

For all his ferocity and sheer bludgeoning strength, there is something aesthetically pleasing about watching Derrick Henry shifting his gears, opening his stride, and leaving a trail of flailing arms in his wake. It’s rather like watching Toure in his pomp.
That goal line off tackle run needed the corner to put himself hard and low into Henry’s knees from the side, taking his momentum and drive from under him.
Otherwise, you’re not gonna stop him unless your name happens to be Atwater.

As a steelers fan its looking good. However, last year the season was blown up by an injury to the QB (big Ben), we have an average level back up so much depends on the fitness of 38 year old Roethlisberger.

And its looking good on the basis a lot of the other contenders have not yet fully clicked or they have had blips - but they will hit form and winning the Superbowl is about hitting form at the right time. There is a long way to go.
