Nissan - sponsorship confirmed (page 7)

Surprised that there is nothing on training kit sponsorship with this deal. Can anybody who has been or going to the store this morning for the new shirt confirm if there is any sponsorship on the training gear?

I wonder if Nissan sell more cars here than Chevrolet. ;)

No competition, Nissan being an automotive group unlike Chevrolet that is a brand owned by a group GM

Chevrolet cars are also being withdrawn from sales in Europe, it seems strange to spend so much to sponsor a club with so a brand that's not even sold in the territories my bet is that the rags will have Vauxhall next season or maybe Opel

Interesting that Nissan is taking over from Ford as ECL sponsor

But the bottom line is ... how much £sd is it worth ?

This. I guess time will tell.
Sssshhhh. Keep it to yourself, but the interesting part of this deal is that no figure's have been mentioned so it's a floating deal with no upper limit.

We buy a 20% stake in Yokohama F·Marinos for mmmmm let's say £200m and a totally unrelated party (Nissan) can sponsor us for mmmmmmmm let's say £190m with no ceiling to future investment.

Through our investment in, and support of, the Yokohama F·Marinos it has become very clear that Nissan and CFG also share a common passion and ambition for further growth and development. As a result, this new partnership presents us both with incredibly exciting opportunities to collaborate through football both in Japan and across the world.”

Ultra reliable cutting edge Nissan, or plastic Chevvy?

:-)

I wonder if that will get us any leverage at UEFA? Probably not, but you never know. Can't imagine UEFA would want to piss off one of their main sponsors too much.

Probably.

Here in the state, General Motors, who owns Chevrolet, a significant amount of their cars are being recalled due to a defect.

Apparently they have a really hard time getting into 6th!!!

This will be a biggie in my opinion, on par with the Etihad deal if not more, also gives us another sign that we are safe with regards to Champs League footy, now we could just do with Coca Cola sponsoring our training kit ;)

Nowhere near as big as that unfortunately. Rumoured to be around £20m over five years.
