Interesting that Nissan is taking over from Ford as ECL sponsor

I wonder if that will get us any leverage at UEFA? Probably not, but you never know. Can't imagine UEFA would want to piss off one of their main sponsors too much.
Very interesting ! Months ago I suggested Abu Dhabi buying shares in companies like Adidas who have big influence on UEFA - having them invest in us is genius

This will be a biggie in my opinion, on par with the Etihad deal if not more, also gives us another sign that we are safe with regards to Champs League footy, now we could just do with Coca Cola sponsoring our training kit ;)

Nowhere near as big as that unfortunately. Rumoured to be around £20m over five years.
what £4m per year? surely worth more..

That's according to James Ducker at The Times:

City's sponsorship deal with Nissan will be worth more than £20m over five years. Big contract in automotive sector #mcfc

I quite low I guess £4m per year is not going to help us much in FFP calculations but everything helps.

It doesn't appear a highly significant deal - they aren't shirt sponsors or stadium name sponsors or anything.
Obviously, every sponsor helps, and 10 smaller deals can still compare with one large one (whilst potentially mitigating some risk too).

It probably can't do any harm to have a good relationship with ECL sponsors either.

A sign of continued commercial growth I'd say, rather than 'stunning mega deal to knock your socks off'

The cynic in me says Nissan have got a cut price deal with us for 5 years while we have now got protection, via their UEFA sponsorship,
from the G14. Maybe that's why we decided to "take a pinch" regarding FFP. We said at the time our instincts were to fight but our
sponsors views were taken into account.

This Ducker fella says deal worth £20m to City over 5 years. But aint the deal with CFG across the board.

So does that mean same deal for each club in CFG

If so then deal is enormous

Why is it a 'cut price deal' ?

They are not shirt sponsors or anything else they are 'automotive' sponsors (whatever the fuck that means). It is one sponsorship amongst many & all these deals which we keep signing will add up to a pretty huge amount of money eventually, IN ADDITION to the really big deals such as shirt etc which will undoubtably increase by a large amount in the coming years.

City are going to be bringing in lots & lots of money.

I wonder what our next kit deal will be worth after this shit £12m deal.. probably close to £25 million? but thats 5 years away sadly. but still our revenue will go up and up year by year.

I think it will be more than that but even if not monetary it is worth a lot as Nissan are big sponsors of the Champs League etc
