Yep exactly this. He needs someone on the wings with genuine pace or a genuine strike partner to make runs and create space for him.

A lovely big gap to play him in and on both occasions the player with the ball - silva on the second - decided to take a touch and retain possession. They seem scared of giving the ball away and as such are afraid to play these passes. This mindset change has to come from the coaches.

Bernardo is the worst culprit for it. I'll probably cop some flack for this statement but it's a issue and I've seen it crop up in two games from Bernardo now. Against the Rags Bernardo would go forward and Haaland would make the run, then for whatever reason Bernardo turns and goes backwards or sideways. Then tonight he did it again on multiple occasions.....just play the fucking ball through and give him something to run onto.

If Gundo or Kev don't start the service to Haaland is restricted from the get go. Case in point what just happened it's a absolute joke we don't utilise our main weapon, especially after Romero was booked as well. It's either poor tactics or something else entirely.

And then we loose the ball anyway with the next action so frustrating
