Looked good tonight but would only be a short term stop gap. I'd prefer it if we added some young English talent like Ross Barkley but the price differential would be a piss take

Do you remember when Stan Bowles came to Maine Road with QPR, a week after The News Of The World had reported that his Mrs had left him, and gone into hiding, because of his constant "Birding & Betting" (Circa 73, I think).

Every time poor Stan got the ball the entire Kippax St stand piped up with a chorus of "Stanley, Stanley, Where's The Wife, Stanley Where's The Wife"

This went on relentlessly throughout the first half, and must have really begun to get on Stan's nerves after a while.

Late on in the half, when the whole Stand once again burst into said song, (For about the 100th time) Stan, Seemingly forgetting all about the game that was going on around him, suddenly stopped dead, with the ball at his feet. & turned towards the Kippax with his arms spread out wide, as if to say "How The F*ck Do I know"
