North Stand Construction Discussion

Design is not my thing so this might well be impractical but with the room at the side of the pitch especially I did wonder if they could dig down and drop the pitch 5 or 10 metres to get a lot more first tier seats in because our first tier is not that big and would be really good seats.
Be cheaper too I imagine.
Anyone think that might be possible?

No.

The pitch is already several meters below ground level.
It would impact views in the upper tiers.
The player and access tunnels would be impacted.
It would probably bring the stands too close to the pitch.

I think (but may be wrong) that they can have a retractable roof but can't have it closed for games.

The whole ground will be wrapped when the whole of the NS etc is completed.

There are NO discussions regarding E & W stand expansion.

Is that 100% or a "maybe" ?

The problem is the cable itself, not the supports. It goes underneath the SS roof and restricted the size of the stand due to sightline issues. It will do the same for the NS development.

I don't sign the cheques, but most of what I've put on the thread has been accurate although I was advised that the hotel would be free standing.
