Not unless it’s a neighbourhood of Denton, the felt hat capital of the world and former home of City reserves. The great northern is the name of the pub. Near burton Albion ground,is that where gone for a burton is from?
It's a WWII RAF slang term. "Gone for a Burton Ale Beer" meaning: missing, not coming back.
City City City!Anyone care to hazard a guess what the first song is that City fans usually sing after scoring an important goal?
Sound a like a train lineThey haven't said much of anything yet, however @Gone for a Burton (?) says that they like 'The Great Northern' as an option.
Even better. I worked it out (Caveat: I'm a bit shit at maths), but if we were to get to 80/85000 capacity, we could sell top tier seats from £20 & still make a decent profit.Prefer 85000 to break our attendance record.
I was always told "gone for a burton" refered to anyone who died would normally be buried in their best suit which the working classes usually purchased from Burton the Tailors. But perhaps that was the northern version.
