I got the impression that was a quick fix to get the stand open on time but it's what 8 years later? Maybe they're waiting for the 4th tiers on the sides of the stadium to make it aesthetically pleasing.

That sums it up pretty well. They just don't seem to follow the swooping lines of the east and Colin Bell stands, along with the South Stand.I got the impression that was a quick fix to get the stand open on time but it's what 8 years later? Im sure i remember them saying they were only temporary/not long term when they were doneI got the impression that was a quick fix to get the stand open on time but it's what 8 years later? Maybe they're waiting for the 4th tiers on the sides of the stadium to make it aesthetically pleasing.

It's difficult because the south stand is higher than the edges of the 2 sides. A competition at a local engineering college for ideas might bring some solutions. 1st prize? Lifetime membership of bluemoon. They removed the old roof corners for construction access. The structures built in their place are a temporary design which can be quickly removed when the sides are expanded. Clearly they don’t look great but the plan was for them to be mostly covered up by big screens. Hopefully that happens during the North Stand construction.

They seemed to be a rush job, to get the South Stand fully open againThe proposed corners of the North Stand look far simpler and in hindsight we should have done that with the South Stand.
