North Stand Construction Discussion

I got the impression that was a quick fix to get the stand open on time but it's what 8 years later? Maybe they're waiting for the 4th tiers on the sides of the stadium to make it aesthetically pleasing.
That sums it up pretty well. They just don't seem to follow the swooping lines of the east and Colin Bell stands, along with the South Stand.

They removed the old roof corners for construction access. The structures built in their place are a temporary design which can be quickly removed when the sides are expanded. Clearly they don’t look great but the plan was for them to be mostly covered up by big screens. Hopefully that happens during the North Stand construction.

Im sure i remember them saying they were only temporary/not long term when they were done

It's difficult because the south stand is higher than the edges of the 2 sides. A competition at a local engineering college for ideas might bring some solutions. 1st prize? Lifetime membership of bluemoon.

Really good podcast today from Ian Cheesman and The City Report, Ian's podcast went into some details about the North Stand he advised that he is going to do a podcast where here goes into more details soon with City Matters and 1894 he has spoken to Danny Wilson at Fulham at the weekend and held open an invitation to be on this podcast

The proposed corners of the North Stand look far simpler and in hindsight we should have done that with the South Stand.

Assume the two present screens get relocated to the south Stand corners and then we rent two more from Radio Rentals when the North Stand is completed.
