North Stand Construction Discussion

Get in touch with the club and ask them why they are leaving it up to the fans to chronicle the North stand build?

Ask the club why there isn't a page on the OS about the North stand redevelopment, it's build, regular video and picture updates, and new information that the fans would find interesting.

The next meeting with City Matters isn't until May. We don't know if that's the next North stand meeting or a general City Matters meeting.

Once again, as with everything the club do, nothing is coming out of the club about the North stand redevelopment. Everything is shrewded in a veil of secrecy.

Other than that, get a camera, get down to the North stand in your own time, take some update construction pictures, and post them on here. If you can't be arsed, stop moaning, and stay off the thread if it's boring and bothering you that much!
The clubs view is probably that there's a limited market for early stage construction site voyeurs.

Some on here think they maybe right !!

May be misremembering but I'm sure someone posted on here a few months back that the club wanted to do something like this when the serious construction got under way. Now the steel's going but still doesn't seem to be anything happening on that front.
Don’t know if this relevant or anything to do with what u are talking about
But at the Arsenal game ,a big camera has gone on the last turret on the west stand facing the site ,not sure if it’s security or for something else, but it certainly wasn’t there before

Such a good idea but the club as always can’t be arsed with it.

You only have to look over the road at scruffy Jim - his regular interviews with the Times and Mail about ‘potential’ improvements at the swamp have garnered 100x times more publicity and engagement than anything we have got for the biggest music arena in Europe or building the new NS and hotel etc.

We should be shouting from the rooftops about these developments - but seem to prefer to keen them a secret

We should be able to like replies like this more than once, take a bow Sir.

The club will be getting regular reports from the contractor and the design team anyway. Could be quite a good idea, to share key updates every so often officially, some of the construxtion outlets and media would probably pick it up from there too.
I appreciate CGI’s, especially flythrough CGI’s aren’t cheap, but some new CGI’s of the bars, restaurants, hotel rooms, skywalk, museum, fanzone, retail, concourses, anything that wasn’t in the PA would be welcomed.

One thing that was really good about the Coop Live Arena website and it’s social media websites, X(Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn, was the live webcam link, drone videos of the construction, animations, new CGI’s, and construction updates that were added on a regular basis during the Coop Live Arena build.

I wouldn’t mind, but City is part of the CFG, who, along with the Oak View Group, commissioned and paid for the Coop Live Arena website media content. So why aren’t City doing something similar with the North stand, which would attract loads of interest, clicks, and views from City fans all over the world?

Not aimed at you.

As for this current stage of the build being boring(?), it might be for some people, but it certainly isn’t for other people, especially with 4 cranes erected, 2 steel structures going up, and 2 concrete cores going up, etc.

Can't remember now, did the club have similar for the South Stand, with additional CGIs, flythroughs etc?

Maybe they'll commission/release some, who knows. Maybe they are waiting to get a full year's worth of the ones done ss part of the PA first, before doing more. Who knows.

Agree on this phase of the works, plenty interesting about it. I find it kinda weird, people coming on just to tell others that they don't find anything interesting or to mock them for finding something intriguing enough to discuss.

City can add a lot more new content about the North stand bar the construction build itself. They could probably dedicate a whole separate website to the North stand if they want to do that, or as a minimum, have a North stand page on the OS. City have got their own in house media team, so it wouldn’t be hard to create a North stand page or website.

You think the NS, hotel and the COOP Live have been kept secret???

The club did do something, albeit not much. See below. The club might have done more, but I honestly can’t remember as it was back in 2013/2014 onwards.

2015.

I think we’ll all agree the North stand redevelopment is on a different scale to the South stand redevelopment, and is a lot more interesting and exciting.

If you dig around Goggle you can always find information and pictures about the Etihad being redeveloped. The new bar at the back of South stand, Level One.

It really is a great bar. And it’s aged well. It still looks great.

For those that take photos in passing or at games, keep an eye out for the facade bay mock-up over the next couple of weeks.

They were programmed in by Sisk for the next two weeks, to be put up for agreement with planners. If that hasn't slipped.
