North Stand Construction Discussion

Ahh yeah, they're definitely designed with the people 'further back' in mind. The walkway between the end of the 'claws' and Metrolink queues won't provide any view at all.

Not really sure I am understanding what you mean. If it is the space inbetween, then the roof wouldn't get in the way as it would be behind? Either way, there will probably be blind spots here and there, or ones too on the angle if too close. But on the whole it will probably work for over 95% of the approach, I would imagine.

Hopefully with rest of Spring and Summer to come and some good weather, the construction can gather pace.

Liverpool were set back a few days every time they got a home cup draw.

Their issue was the construction company went bust.

Hundreds of jobs have been lost after the contractor building Liverpool FC's Anfield Road stand extension collapsed into administration. Buckingham Group Contracting had previously ceased trading and issued a notice of intention to appoint administrators on August 17.5 Sept 2023

Liverpool got a construction company from Ireland to finish the work, hence the over use of tarmac inside the stand. :-)

I wasn't on about that well known issue.

It was the new company that was delayed further by home cup ties in Jan and Feb.

It has to go from a building site to a football stadium and back for every game and the cup draws were an unknown variable.

Glad they're not using the CooP contractor.

An aircon unit, the size of four commercial waste bins, falling 80 ft onto punters wouldn't be good news for anyone !!

Don’t think it was a HVAC unit that fell they are mounted outdoors the item that fell was ducting related Nevertheless it’s would have resulted in injury to anyone below

Didn’t Buckingham Group carry out some work on the remediation of the Etihad Campus?

Visited the site yesterday and when stood on Blue Moon Way, you don't have much distance to view where the eventual big screens will be on the ends of the 'claws' as the view is obstructed by the white roof of the metrolink queuing areas. Unless it's going to be 'really' high up...
Where is Blue Moon Way?

Does anyone else suspect the angle of the front cables is going to change?
