North Stand Construction Discussion

The North West pinnacle for the top of the quad pod is on the ground ready to be lifted into place. It's massive! Looks like it's fabricated from 50mm thick plate.
Relative to those herras and barrier frames, you'd be right, some thickness. Wonder how much that piece weighs.

Stick that on your list of questions jrb!

That's sexual.

What a fantastic piece of steel engineering.

Great picture Kinky.
I've thought this before, but a selection if pictures off this thread would actually make a prety decent exhibition! Once the thing is finished, in one of the rooms in the new museum.

Think it is from the vent subbies, as I understood it
I didn't link the name of the person or company on purpose, which I normally do for credit. I actually removed some of the text.

I'm not saying City will be unhappy about pictures like that being posted on the internet, but I'm sure they would rather not have pictures like that being posted on the internet.

Let's just say I got lucky finding the picture.

Anyone know how stadium entry is going to work if you are staying at the Hotel?
On most floors there's a direct link to the stadium.

If you are at the hotel and have a ticket for that area (I wonder if they will be selling specific tourist packages for those floors - which would make it easier for them) presumably there will be a ticket barrier to and from the stadium on the stadium side of the particular floor walkways between the hotel and stadium.

Room pricing will be interesting. It will be ridiculous for Champions League and some other games. There's plenty of choice of hotels in town, though like most big cities, they suffer from dynamic pricing.

I'm being serious.

City should invite CP Overview and SS Skies to a match once the North stand is fully open.

They both deserve to watch a City match in the GA+ seats on NSL2.
Thanks to those guys it added another level of interest to the development of the stand, hotel and surrounding area. Also its been very educational for us non-engineering types along with additional contributions from knowledgeable Bluemooners.

Top floor only I believe
All floors below are just hotel rooms

United play Fulham on the Sunday.

Premier Inn, Trafford Park, opposite the Trafford Centre.

Staying the night before the match, the price of the room trebles.

Top floor only, and the area is a floor above the rest of the stand.

I've been to MK Don's and Blackpool who both have a hotel connected to the ground. For those, and clearly it would work differently for us, you aren't allowed in your room - or any area overlooking the pitch - during the match.

Somebody needs to email this thread to Simon Hallet and Plymouth Argyle.
