North Stand Construction Discussion

Why are so many getting pissed off AGAIN about this? From what i have read over the last few months, most of you drink at a local pub and not at the ground, dont eat at the ground, buy fake football shirts etc so dont go in the club shop so nothing is going to change your routine?
Football, Music, Entertainment

Those that consistently comment, often negatively, are usually those that say they are staying in the South Stand lower where they can have `banter` with away fans, think that they are making a lot of noise under the concrete overhang from the level above, and wave their flags at the front for a few minutes before the game starts. That is assuming they are not still in the concourse, throwing beer over one another and singing themselves hoarse so that by the time they get in the ground they do not have much left to give.

If some fans want to go to Mary D`s, the 2 pubs on the estate at the back of the south stand, or Manchester city centre, or whenever, that is there choice and preference. No one else is concerned about what they want to do or feels the need to comment about other fans options.

So, why have we got those not affected or impacted by the North Stand constantly bemoaning almost everything about it? It is almost like a deliberate intention to undermine its success. And, why over rely on artistic impressions? They are targeted at different audiences at different times.

City aim to create a long term, sustainable football club which competes at the very top. This requires income not solely from football matches on a relatively few days / nights a year, but from a wide range of other sources. The club, Manchester and specifically East Manchester will benefit from extending the sports led regeneration to making it an all round football, music and entertainment set up.

What Manchester City FC has achieved is remarkable.

Football, Music, Entertainment - with City still well placed in all 4 competitions.

So they're gonna fill it with clowns like I witnessed last night, no doubt.

We were all level at 2-2 and this woman starts facetiming her mum; showing her the ground, fans, the game etc...
She was on for 10 minutes or so.

I know I have said this before, but this is a club that determines my moods.
Makes me leave work early.
Makes me spend money I don't have.

Why? Cos I LOVE Manchester City.

Yet they want to take tickets away from passionate fans who can't make 16 games and give em to people who use us like a fashion accessory.
City dont make you do any of those things, you choose to .

Seriously? Well parking will be more difficult for one. The car parks have already been closed to fans three times this season. I thought the new square would have seating for eating. Doesn’t appear so. Just have to wait and see and if it’s brilliant I’ll be the first to say so.
You can eat inside, there will be restaurants, plus the hotel restaurants, you will be spoilt for choice mate

The tail hasn't been wagging the dog for a long time. The club could do a great deal more to accommodate City fans and protect its revenue mate. There is a balance to be struck. At the moment their is little balance, it is all about revenue and ultimately that is going to hollow out the traditional fanbase. If the club model is that they will always be successful enough to attract tourists to their entertainment complex then good luck to them. I think its a hell of a gamble.
Really ? You not in business then ? Biggest hotel in Manchester, 60 thousand seater stadium, 22.500 in coop arena, plus the general public...and you think its a gamble ???

It will be an incredible set up, yet we have City fans criticizing every little detail, the shit we get from other fans yet here we are hearing shit from our own...

You've got 3 separate F&B outlets at the bottom of the hotel and if staying at the hotel then you'll have access to the All Day Dining area on the floor above.

What exactly are those F & B spaces on the ground floor and where are the outlets that service them? Is it the darker blue areas? I'm genuinely trying to see how this works. Are there any images yet?

It's 100% a gamble. If you read what he is saying.

I get it, you don't like people reacting negatively to things. But there are some sensible posters making sensible comments and you are jumping at them without maybe getting their point. Which in itself isn't even that negative.

He is not talking about a gamble on the return, he is talking about the shift that brings.
