North Stand expansion - seating, ticketing etc

Quite right.

The combined capacities of the Etihad and Co-Op Live will be 85,500 from next year. Yet there is one Metrolink stop servicing one line (<Town:Ashton>), a handful of buses and banned parking within a certain radius of the stadium with no Park+Ride alternative options out in place. And then there’s nothing else. Your legs are your only other option to get anywhere.

Over in Trafford Park, United’s capacity is 74,000 yet they have 5 Metrolink stops close by connected to 5 of the different Metrolink directions (Town, Airport/EDids, Alty, TraffCent and MediaC/Eccles), a railway station, more bus routes, larger road network, water taxis on the canal in either direction from Sale and Town and even a ‘River Cruise’ from Town.

They have to deal with Trafford Council, we get the anti-motorist bastards at Manchester City Council.
We need more trams, more buses, more on-road parking in non-residential areas, more off-road parking in industrial and commercial parks that are closed at weekends and in the evenings, and more exits from the main car parks.
And more walking routes so traffic can move along Ashton New Road after the games.

The club might get a shock when it comes to selling seats in the expanded NS2 if we continue our stuttering form for a season or two. Fans will want the discount that comes with having a regular ST and attending all the home games, and tourists might well choose other venues. Obviously we'll still be attractive to some due to the records we've smashed over the past few years.
The club really needs to go public on their plans for season tickets especially if they want the new stand to be the main source of atmosphere. They have absolutely no chance of achieving that if there are different people in those seats every game.
They also need to go public about pricing, but that won't happen as they seem wedded to maximising revenue at every opportunity.

Reminder to everyone of Sheikh Mansours introductory letter to all City fans, Khaldoons regular missives along with Pep & the players sentiments.

Why are the executives destroying our goodwill at avtime whwn the club has never been more successful.

We should be the happiest and most connected club and fan base in world football.

There is a serious management disconnect and mistep !!

As above, with the way the club are pricing tickets I think there could be a lot of empty seats in the new stand, for certain games. We already aren’t selling out a number of games as it as.

it seems like they’d rather have a quiet, middle aged fanbase, 90% attendance, and expensive tickets. There’s no long term thinking at all

Barcelona are currently playing in the Olympic stadium whilst the Camp Nou is being redeveloped.

The capacity of the Olympic stadium is 60,000.

Barcelona are averaging roughly 45,000 for their home games this season.

Ticket prices start at €54 in the corners, and go up to €139 in the Gran stand.(main stand)

Barcelona fans and tourists aren’t filling the 60,000 Olympic stadium.

thought you can't park around the ie/cemetery??

we used to park there before covid
You can't park there. The restriction is deliberate at parking allowed for 90 minutes. I see parking tickets on cars every week as some do not read the signs. They also ticket disabled motorists if they haven't set their clocks right to cover the period parked. It's a money making racket by the council. There is absolutely no need to restrict parking in an area where there are no houses and at match times all other businesses are closed.

we could borrow Celtic's seat banners from the seasons when Rangers were papped out of the SPL

City will be aiming to top a £100mil of match day revenue, possibly within the first full year of the expanded North Stand being opening. I’ve heard that £100mil plus is the bench mark for “super clubs”.

This could backfire if the team continue to misfire or if we get significant sanctions from the hearing with the Prem. That said, if we bounce back and are very competitive on the pitch the £100 mil in match day revenue is not unrealistic (from the viewpoint of our Execs).

I think we have some conflicting ticket pricing policies that could be improved to help fans. A raft of measures have been introduced and expanded to help season card and flexi gold holders attend the “bigger games”. That should leave a larger pot of tickets for the “lower profile” games. Then the excuse that remaining tickets have to be sold at the same price as tickets sold at the start of the season is much weaker. Let the remaining tickets be sold at affordable prices.

For Blues attending the vast majority of games, there needs to be a pathway to full season cards. The flat fees for Flexi-goods also needs to be reduced. A quantity of extra season cards should be available for Blues in the new singing sections.

My own preference is not to use the official ticket exchange. This reinforces excessive ticket prices.
I can see it’s convenient though.

The stuttering form is temporary because we've got Pep Guardiola and the boys.
Maybe this dip in form is needed to weed out the fake fans who only support City when we are winning.

They are forcing out 500 season ticket holders from behind the goal to make way for a corporate ticket for City Hall. Another example of our great clubs disregard for "Legacy Fans"
Yeah, just had an email about that as I sit in the North Stand bottom tier. Luckily my seat isn't affected, but feel for those who are being shunted out just to make way for more corporate fans.

So. In simple terms. What are the chances of me being able to get a ST - a ticket for every home game, not a raffle - for my 5 year old? I’ve been a ST holder since 2000.
