North Stand expansion - seating, ticketing etc

We don't yet know we are ending up with 3 areas. That is being bourne out of the confusion around the wording.

It doesn't tie up with the sections though (i'll post when I get the chance to overmark), which is why I think it is wrong.
The way I read it is…nobody needs to move from the expanded section (formerly L2) because these people have already been relocated & catered for (300) five hundred in level 0 (formerly L1) will need to be relocated for the City Hall GA+ meaning an increase from 650 to 800 GA+ offerings. What is not clear is, has City Hall been completely turned over to GA+ or will the 500 get their own section in there ? I seem to remember there are two main access points to the stand on the far left & far right (might be wrong) which possibly means this was either pre planned/considered a while back

Edited post, realising you are highlighting how you read the current wording.

I'm not convinced though. Between renumbering the levels and new descriptions, think it is confusion snowballing a bit.

It tie in with the physical arrangement.
The city hall doesn't directly access seats directly so makes little sense to dedicate that as any form of corporate. Moving the GA+ seats up as you suggest then loses access to the GA+ (cross) bar, and shifts them to the concourse above which is one open bar with a whole other capacity.

Once you see it in section, it should make more sense.

I’m correct. It will just take some time for it to settle in.

The area in the lower tier are mainly family and friends who are season ticket holders (me being one of them). Most of us have been together in that area best part of 20 years and a lot of us older ones season ticket holders at Maine Rd. The club are picking us of a section at a time to bring in higher spending day trippers and sugar coating it with "price freezes".

Sorry, forgot to add in the sky bar :)

Green - Sky Bar seats
Yellow - Cross Bar seats
Pink - City Hall seats

Makes no sense purely as a building. The access and the numbers just don't stack.

I'm pretty sure the GA+ is staying where it is, there is no change there (which is then wrong on your overmark), as that is the first 4-5 rows of tier 2.

Whether the pink is then additional to that in terms of a hospitality upgrade, that's the bit that's not clear. Time will tell.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. We are reacting live to new stuff while doing other shit, with good fucking intentions, no need for anyone to be a fanny about it.

It’s already kicking off.

Sat in same seat since we movee to stadium, 4 of us now being kicked out of our seats to accomdate people willing to pay more money, club is getting further and further away from the fans. Really considering not going anymore, had my sesson ticket since 1987.

@BM77BEN

An absolute disgrace. Been taken my seat off me which ive had since the stadium opened for this. You've been trying to kick the proper fans out for years. Football is nothing without the fans.

Can you imagine if the queues at the bar were really like that on a match day, with one on to one service. Lol!

very similar to the co op isn’t it, I’m guessing they’ll go big on self serve, Everton have & that’s been a relative success & those installed at the etihad never have a queue

The Frankenstein Stand

A mish mash of every single survey response and no clear vision.

Exactly mate.

And the club have been complicit in that from day one.

It’s only ever been about increasing match day revenue.

So much for the fan surveys, listening to the fans, and putting what the fans wanted first.

At least we know Soriano, Danny Wilson, and the other directors aren’t bothered about empty seats all over the ground when the new North stand opens up.

Or how long they’ll

There won’t be that many self service terminals to make a huge difference to the queues at the bars. The new North stand will be a 11,000-12,000 capacity tier, give or take.

The club will call it progression

They want to be careful as progress may mean loyal fans watching at home/pub.

That may be what they want

I sit in the circled section with my son and this is the email i received this morning.

It is very confusing, do we have to relocate or not?

We are getting in touch with some important information regarding your Season Ticket at the Etihad Stadium.

Later today, the Club will be sharing news about the North Stand expansion - including key ticketing updates and details of new matchday experiences. This announcement will include details of City Hall, a new enhanced bar experience for around 500 fans on matchdays, and a hub for events on non-matchdays. This will be located at the back of Level 0 (formerly known as Level 1).

To accommodate this ground-floor space, seating at the back of North Stand Level 0 (formerly known as Level 1) will be allocated to City Hall ticket holders from the 2026/27 season onwards. This includes your current seat.

We understand this is unsettling news, so we wanted you to be the first to know.

And while you do not need to make any decisions until later in the season, we want to take this moment to assure you we’re here to make this process as smooth as possible.

To help with this, you can find information below about the options available to you.

Priority relocation window: You will have first choice on any available general admission seat in the Etihad Stadium. This includes the option to relocate to the expanded North Stand or stay within Level 0 (formerly known as Level 1).

Regardless of where you relocate — even if it’s to a more expensive general admission area - your ticket price will remain the same for the next two seasons (2026/27 and 2027/28).

Option to remain in your current seat: You have first refusal on your seat and are welcome to enjoy the new enhanced bar experience. Please note, the standard rate for this space will apply.

Friends and Family: We recognise that matchdays are about more than just football — they’re about spending time with those around you. With this in mind, we’re making it possible for you to relocate alongside friends or family, even if they’re not directly affected by the changes.

As stated above, you do not need to make any decisions at this moment in time. In early 2026, we will share further information about the specific seats available to you. You will then choose your selected seat during the 2026/27 Season Ticket Renewal Window later in the season.

In the meantime, if you have any questions or would like to speak with someone directly, our Fan Support team is available to assist. We can also arrange an in-person conversation at the Etihad Stadium should you prefer to discuss your options face-to-face.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We’re committed to making this transition as smooth as possible by finding a solution which works for you.

seems fair enough to me

So if I'm interpreting it correctly, 4,000 seats have been earmarked for new season ticket holders, of which 50% will be for juniors. For the adult to qualify they will have needed to purchase match 35 match day tickets over the last 3 years, and if they have they will be offered a flexi gold season ticket (which the club are referring to as a season ticket), and will presumably be able to pull through a junior member who hasn't purchased 35 match day tickets in the last 3 seasons.

Is that about right?

Thats amazing getting 2000 younger fans in. We are too quick to moan. Great foresight from the club.

Normal season ticket or Flexi-Gold season ticket?

There is a difference.

Yep. My view is the entire expansion is mainly being built for corporates. You’ve got more corporate seating, a sky bar, drinking areas and a huge hotel - most of which ordinary fans will never use or have access to.
