It's a blow that Toure is out, but he was never likely to play three games in a week. Hopefully he'll be back for Kiev and United.

Would be nice if Iheanacho was given a start, but presume it'll be:

Hart
Sagna
Kompany
Mangala
Clichy
Fernando
Fernandinho
Navas
Sterling
Silva
Aguero

Majorly disappointed Yaya is missing tomorrow. Just can't get our first XI out on a regular basis. Best to play Silva behind Aguero and let the 2 Ferns do the defensive leg work with Navas and Sterling out wide.
I'd rather play Dihno on the right, and Garcia in the middle wit Silva. Fernando behind them. And Sterling on the left.

I hope you are wrong. Unlikely though. I hope Pelegrini goes back to our best team of late, the Kiev squad. And just replaces Yaya with Garcia.

I think that's the team to go with.

We under-estimate Delia's Canary Brigade at our peril. They gave us a scare at our place earlier this season. It was a mad finish. They got their equalizer with less than ten minutes to spare, only to give away two penalties in the last five minutes of the game. Yaya scored the first, and then went off injured. Kolarov insisted on taking the second pen and missed horribly, which you just knew he would. His pen turned out to be the last kick of the game. It was all a bit shit, one way or another. I hope we play better tomorrow.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing in those last few minutes, we were all over the place. It was one of many late rescue acts this season, without which we would be sitting mid table.

don't see any reason why Otamendi would be dropped

With Vinny marshalling everyone in the back 4, I expect none of the shambolic defending of Norwich at home, we will have to move up a gear from the Villa game, but still, Norwich shouldn't hold any fear for us, I expect a comfortable win.
( so, is footage of one of our greatest recent wins on this ground going to be heavily edited to expunge Johnson from view, now that he's been convicted, Or not?)

I could see Pellegrini for some reason keeping Bony in the side and having the two Ferns in the middle with Silva and Navas out wide. I hope not.

It would be interesting to see something different, something akin to how Dortmund played last night

Hart
Mangala Kompany Otamendi
Sagna.........Fernando.............Clichy
Fernandhino Silva Sterling
Aguero
I'd like to think that would be both good defensively, 6 defenders if required, and good at attacking (6 again), and no gaps between defence and midfield, or midfield and attack, you could even call it fluid.

That suits virtually nobody. Those wingbacks would need to offer a genuine threat going forward and whilst both are capable of putting in a good ball, nobody will be in the box anyway to get on the end of it. Also, none of the back 3 are particularly good on the ball and at bringing it into midfield if needs be.

Just like to say a special thanks to Sky for making this an early kick off. i'll be leaving the house at 3.30am because of them. Who needs sleep eh?

Not that I am advocating that formation but Kompany is fairly adept at playing out of the back and, in that formation, you'd normally want the central centreback to be that ball-player.

At any rate, I hope we go with a wide 4-2-3-1.

Vinny played against Norwich at home...

I really hope we get our second win in a row for the first time in a long time. I am never optimistic anymore though.

A performance like we had there in 2012 would be useful, really need to push on and mount a challenge for the league. They will be fighting for a point so we need to be at it.
