Norwich post match thread

Fernando's clearance after sprinting towards the end was massive, the other player is in acres of space and many yellow shirts in the middle. If he hadnt cleared it, we were in a bit of bother.

That's what I was thinking of. Absolutely pivotal moment. A huge tackle!

Well, what was all that about? Almost managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory there.

We made that game far tougher than it needed to be, as if we thought we could just play at a leisurely pace and Norwich would roll over and give us the win.

Well played to Nico, saved us from embarrassment a few times today. Joe had a keeper's nightmare with the dropped ball, however I'm not gonna be over-critical of this as his feet slid backwards on the turf at the moment he was making the catch. On the plus side, the save he made afterwards was world class - his reaction time to change direction after the deflection looked almost impossible, so it doesn't look like it's affected his confidence or ability at all.

Not sure if they're given specific 1st and 2nd choice penalty taker roles before each game, as would have presumed Yaya would have taken the second penalty as well if he was still on the pitch. If it was open to anyone to take that second penalty then yep, Sterling had every right to step up. Perhaps Kolarov got a bit of karma there.

Really happy with the win, though it felt a bit like we were shooting ourselves in the foot today. I hope the players start creating a bit more space for each other as I don't get this idea of two players tapping the ball no more 2 yards horizontally to each other 4 or five times, without making a yard of ground up-field. All it seems to do is give their defenders more time to get organised.

Anyone would think we got our third 0-0 in a row today. Wasnt great, got 3 points, stuff of champions.

The fucking rags and Jose would kill for our result today. Some need to give their fannies a wipe.
If you're referring to me there, check my posts in today's match thread (there ain't that many as I was out and was on my phone!). Compared to some other posters (and indeed compared to myself some other days!), I did precious little moaning.

Out of all of this, can we take a moment to reflect upon Otamendi. Yet another superb performance. I feel sorry for Mangala because he was starting to put in some very good performance, yet this partnership of Vinny and Otamendi is looking superb. We're a very lucky club.

Wasnt actually referring to you mate, in general there is a lot of over reaction and spoilt brat behaviour, you rarely need to give your fanny a wipe, unless there is a pic of Holly willoughby

joe hart should be thanking john rudy gifted us the winner . yaya was our best player . But today performance showed why we struggle in europe ,we struggle to keep a clean sheet and close the game without outscoring opponents by more than 2 goals . kolarov was fucking poor apart from his few good crosses .
Otamandi motm . bony should be third choice behind kelechi and sergio . we need silva and sergio back before liverpool

Bony is too slow of mind and foot. His finishing was off and other than simply holding the ball up, i don't see what he brings. Holding the ball up should be the minimum expectation of someone of his build. He just isn't good enough. He would normally be a good back up striker for most top clubs, but only if their first choice forward wasn't so injury prone. It was weird taking Kelechi off just after he had produced a great bit of skill to give Bony an opening, especially considering we had only played 8 minutes of the second half. I would have left it a little longer and even then i think i would have taken Navas off and gone with De Bruyne centrally, ahead of Toure and Dinho, with Sterling, Kelechi and Bony forming a front 3. Our full backs are supposed to provide our width so i'm not sure why Navas always needs to be so wide

Satisfied with the result, MCFC certainly give you value for money with all the late drama, great last 10 minutes thanks to Hart lol
