Norwich Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Can I just say as well that I can understand why he brought Kolorov on. Both our strikers were having complete mares and we could have played 180 minutes like that without scoring. He had to do something and had few options remaining. I can see why he chose to bring Alex "shoot on sight" Kolorov on. Made a change from some of the "Allergic to shooting" performances from the others. Spanish Dave for one needs a right kick up his arse in that department.

Take 3 of any teams BEST players away and theyll struggle. Not surprised tbh.

I agree with this, to an extent. The thing is though, we have enough quality that we should still beat teams like Norwich. That thought is very valid for the loss against Chelsea, but not today. I think it's Pellers job to get the players fired up, let them know we need to grind out a win, but it seems like he doesn't. I'm starting to agree that he has no back-up plan. It's like he just takes teams that are loaded with firepower and let's them play in a nice offensive 4-4-2. Take away a couple key players and he's lost. Now I'm not a manager, but with 20 minutes left why didn't Kolarov come on for Milner? Stick Silva in the middle and pump balls into the box with 2 giant aerial strikers, it was so obvious to everyone except Pellers. Another change I was hoping might happen after Dzeko came on was subbing Milner for a CB and moving Kompany up to DM and unleashing Toure. I'd rather see that than Rodwell :|

All in all I'm just starting to lose faith in Pellegrini. He has one system that works with our starting 11, and not the rest. We need a manager with a true footballing mind, someone that can evolve within a game, someone that can go into a game with 5+ changes from the previous game and have some sort of tactic/system that will utilize those players. Today with 3 of our key players out he should have had a scrappy system in place. Just my 2 cents.

Probably one of the few times i have tbf

I dont see why it was locked, people were talking about him.

People were talking about the game, which is why it was locked. It will be unlocked in a little while once the initial rush has subsided. We do this often.

Now, QUESTION MODERATING DECISIONS BY PMING RIC AND NOT IN THE THREAD. I cannot repeat this enough it seems.
No, people were discussing his tactics and decisions during the most recent and relevant performance.

Which is why i question whether or not we can talk negatively.

This thread should be locked surely by your logic as you, I and others arent discussing the match. You just want to ban everyone it seems.

Regardless, brilliant performance. Great job Pellers and co, onwards and upwards etc.

Leave it

The first 10 mins i thought we were in for another 5-6 goal thriller. Demichelis let a pass from Milner go under his boot and it went to rats after that.

Too many players went missing today. I didn't see any drive or rallying of the troops from Vinny or anybody for that matter. Yeah we have scored 100+ goals but teams will never just lie down against us (unless your manager is ferguson) and the sooner we realise this the better. What bothers me is you see other teams in the league when 1 or 2 aren't performing the other players step up their own game but with us once 1 player gets his head down its like a cancer. It just spreads through the whole team and we end up with only a couple of players coming out of it able to hold their heads up with their performance. No disrepect to Pellers today but he must have thought Demichelis could hold his own as DM against Chelsea as he wouldn't have played him there, then against Norwich - the least scorers in the league he puts Milner in at DM?

Our next 3 games are crucial. If the Mackems get a result at our place then Chelsea turn us over in the FA cup and Barcelona tear us apart. Our season could all rest on the tin pot Capital One Cup Final.

Pure shit again. pellegrini was utterly clueless once again. Taking of Jovetic for Dzeko???????? WTF Jovetic was our best player up to that point. Shouldve gone with Demi in the middle instead of milner with Lescott at the back. Silva is a shadow of his former self recently. Navas cant hit a corner - why not allow Kolarov (a dead ball specialist) or Milner take them?

No drive from players either. yaya didn't give a shit. Clichy poor was usual nowadays. Negredo seems to have lost his magic or is still nursing an injury.

Now Chelsea in control and with the horror fixture list coming later on....it might be game over. Our season risks iml
plodding in a month.......if we play like we did today we will get destroyed by barca and Chelsea, and we might end up with the league cup (which isn't even guaranteed)

Fucking poor......

Rag

Childish reply. Tell me what basis you have for calling me a rag when I voiced my opinion on what isaw?

Jovetic was always going to be taken off at 60 minutes, no matter the scoreline. He is still in his preseason.

Yes, we played poorly today, but to say it "might be game over" because we dropped two points is just laughable. There's 13 games left to play and we're 2 points off top FFS.

That's why you have been called a rag. And then you have the nerve to call someone ELSE childish, after that post you made.

Fuck me hope this country is never invaded, wouldn't like to be in the trenches with 90% of the fuckers on here

I hope your not relying on in the team, cowards a plenty today.

Absolutely buzzing about that point.

We have some great strength in depth in central midfield .

MD is absolutely class, and isn't a liability.

Dzeko is brave as a lion, and we looked like scoring every time we went forward today .

All in all a great point against a very very very good Norwich team.

Just think a few years ago we were playing in the third tier , and it doesn't matter what happens these days as we can always relate back to the dark days and make ourselves feel better.

Just got back to the car, christ it was dull to watch. It just seemed like 75 mins of sideways and backward passing then little bursts of energy. Its worrying that nothing seemed to change at all, lucky to get the bloody point in the end

Manuel is lucky to stay in his job.
Wasting yaya in holding mid allowing him no license over the opposition half way line when playing Norwich is just laughable.

Not sure about lucky to stay in his job but the decision to play Yaya in front of the back 4 today was a total and utter joke. I didn't agree with the decision to sub jovetic and taking off a striker for Kolarov was comical at best.

Maybe the team are tired - I think we have to play our strongest team on weds then put the reserves out against Chelsea as not sure the same players can do all 3 games incl the barca game.
