Norwich Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Its easy to blame Pellers, we would be wrong. We are playing some key players to often, because in general the squad is wafer thin. No serious back up to challenge Zabs (Micah don't make me laugh). The left backs blow hot and cold, there's no one to challenge and therefore take the burden of Vinnie. Nasri is injured we should now view how important a midfield with the control and poise of Fernie, Yaya, Nasri and Silva is. The back up aside from Navas and Milner is crap. The biggest crime is that we have clearly been rushing Sergio back early everytime, because there's fuck all variation between The Beast and Edin, Jovetic is 3 games away from being sharp if indeed he is.
As per last season, we haven't improved the squad enough. Nigel was and is better than anyone we have in that role, Mario was and is way better than Edin, but The beast is, but we haven't bought anyone of the quality of Yaya, Silva, Sergio and Nasri. I feel the we have a great owner and two spoilt brats, who seem to think they can make people jump too our tune like they did at Barca, they can't because we don't have that ultimate pulling power. We will likely have to pay over the odds for world class players (Hazard was immense on Monday)for a while longe, but if paying £85 million for Bale isn't over the odds then what is.
At full strength we are awesome, 3 injuries and we are very mortal, that isn't really Pellers fault, just as it wasn't Bobbys.
Someone posted that Barca work on the basis of having 17 top draw players really top quality and everyone else is a youth player therefore, in theory hungry and determined to usurp the established player. That I believe is what we are hopefully heading too, as long as the people in charge, have a reality check on our position to negotiate, when dealing with some major targets. Its not over, we need to show some balls.

The squad is paper thin? Get a grip....yeah yeah we'd all like a squad of £25m+ players, not gonna happen, never will as you can't keep everyone happy. We still have the best squad by miles in terms of strength in depth. Today's starting 11 were so superior in terms of ability than Norwich's. It's how you approach the game and the mentality and desire of the players that matters. Today for whatever reason (again against an organised lower table side) we didn't turn up and play like we should have been able to.

We struggle when Ferni is out , 5 points from the 5 games he has been out this seaaon.

We will struggle on Wednesday as well but hopefully we keep a clean sheet and are a bit more clinical in front of goal to get a 1-0 , 2-0 win.

We certainly need strengthening in midfield and defence and a quality replacement for Dzeko if he moves on.

A side that relies on MDM , Garcia, Milner, Rodwell , to fill in any major gaps for most games or games against hard pressing opposition is going to struggle.

Richards and Nasty are unlikely to be part of sides wanting to go deep in Chumps League or big players in the premiership so a lot of tinkering is still required.

We have needed this since we won the title but have failed miserably to sort it.

Only Fernandinho has added anything to our defence and midfield since then.

Nastasic, Demichellis, Garcia and Rodwell all signed since then and none are good enough.

That is around £75m spent since 11/12 and very little value added.

We had another chance in January and failed again. It could very well cost us.

I would have changed the formation today a little to get the best of of Yaya who could and normally is the difference in games like this.

---Milner----Rodwell----

Silva------Yaya-----Jovetic

----------Negredo----------

Is what i would have played.

Totally agree from both of you. I just don't think we have the mentality in our players to really push for the title apart from maybe hart, vinny and Zabba. This is a great opportunity for success. Next season will be tougher with Liverpool, rags, Chelsea and of course arsenal challenging for the title. Worse, We may lose the likes of Aguero, silva and yaya in the summer which will tear our squad apart. Call me a drama queen but this result could have dire consequences.
Drama queen to end all drama queens

It makes you wonder if they are even allowed out of the house unaccompanied, I often wonder if people look back at stuff like this and think, "Did I really post that Crap?" I also beleive that football at this level is far to stressful for some City fans, they just don't seem able to deal with disappointment for some reason, it's not like we are all jumping for joy after today and Monday all of us are pissed off, but it's how you handle being pissed off that counts

Spot on. Some of these people cannot have experienced the pain of the yo yo seasons when we were biting our nails until we got 38 points and still relegated. Then we had the stress of trying to get promoted!! The last few seasons AND this season should be ENJOYED. We are in the early stages of our climb to the top of the football world but sometimes there are backward steps before we leap forward. Remember the Arteta goal for Arsenal that the press told us had cost us the title…………..…There are still 39 points to play for and we are only 2 points behind the leaders. Our best players have yet to come back and we shall be ready for the hard work leading up to Easter and beyond.

Lack of pace is a huge problem. Can't think of a lot of our players who are quick. Clichy, Navas, Aguero?

I actually wouldn't have minded a draw...................had we beat Chelsea Monday night.

Still pissed off but not throwing in the towel just yet.

It's not individual pace that's ever been a problem going forward. We've proved time and time again that we can play a very quick tempo game as a unit. This obviously relies on players being sharp and fully fit though.
