Not from Manchester, Not from the Uk, and I am a City Fan

This is a local club for local people

then play local fucking players to enjoy your local fucking success..

fuck off, just saw it's sarcasm, lol

btw, as non uk (and obviously not manchester, lol) I did never mind people having sympathies and being "fans" of yoonited or some other teams, what I don't like (and will not with city too) is pathetic comments coming from foreign, glory-hunting fans. These days some opera singer from Bosnia made an ode to yoonited and when you listen it you would say his grand-grand fathers were ST holders at OT. And comments on youtube made me to have a drop - "there's nothing I love more than United", "you have to cry when listening this" etc, etc coming from Bosnians, Croatians, Serbains etc, etc..

I like City and really, really would like it to dominate the world of football and find myself to think a lot about City in last 10 days when dream of lifelong fans finally became reliable but would feel as first grade cnut if I would post such comments as obviously City are not the center of my life and it would never be nor it should be.

From a shitty little town in the northwest part of the US.
.... never had another football team but City.

Internationalism is fantastic . . something to be celebrated.
Did anyone ever criticise an Oasis fan for not being from Manchester? No way jose. Fans from all 4 corners are fans nevertheless.
I'm lucky enough to be Manchester born but have been big into american bands that I've never seen (Grifters etc.) and so appreciate that when something gets to your soul, when the love goes out, then you're into it regardless of proximity.

Welcome one and all.

Nz city fan since i was 7. 40 this year. Live in london with all the rags now. Wasnt at york away but still means the world to me.

Indian origin, raised in Abu Dhabi, based in the States. I' a City fan since the Sheikh took over. I love the Nahyans ever since I can remember and I grew up annoyed by bandwagon United fans... So it was a no brainer.

With you on that one fella. It's not a considered decision, it's more like being struck by cupid's arrow!
Proximity makes it more likely but it's definitely more than just a proximity thing because you can get struck at any distance.

Our Foreign fans don't have to be the same as the Rags...

it's up to us to educate the post-takeover fan, maybe they never had a club? and need educating on our history, the game and so on...

Maybe with the right knowledge the next Korean tourist won't just be in the stadium taking photos then leaving early if there's no goals.... But he will go inside the stadium, forget taking pictures, and singing the songs he has learnt from Youtube and so on.

It's not where you're from, it's where you're at.

People support City (and other clubs) for all sorts of different reasons, and it is not always glory. I will never forget a Norwegian lad who supported City - I cannot remember his proper name as we all knew him as "Same Again" due to the fact that his English was not perfect and one time in the pub someone asked him his name and he thought he was being offered a drink so said same again.

Anyhow I remember asking him why he supported City, and in his case it was when he was young there was a family from Manchester who had moved to Norway who were Blues, and one weekend the two young lads and their dad flew back to Manchester for a game and never came home as their plan crashed on the way back, so that day his love for City was born, and I know for a fact that in the 80's he used to get over from Norway for 15 to 20 City matches a year, and I believe for 2 years he even managed to get a job in Manchester just so he could get to all the City matches. I have not met too many more decent and loyal City fans than "Same Again" tbh.

SO....before people come on here slagging people for not being proper fans by virtue of not being from Manchester, please try and understand there are many reasons to love a football club, so maybe the "holier than thou" witchhunters could give people a break and a little more understanding?

I lived in London for most of the 1980's as an exiled Manc, and joined the London branch of the supporters club, and I would say approx half were exiled Mancs and half from the south east and the 1980's were hardly glory hunting days, and these guys and girls had many different reasons for supporting City (most of them saying it through gritted teeth, like why the fuck did I get hooked on City, all the pain and torment etc!) - but one thing I noted is that their support was no better and no worse than mine, so I do have tolerance of people who love City for whatever reason.

And above all else, someone who is a Blue (for whatever reason that might be)at least is not a dirty red scummy bastard

Same Again, I am not sure if you still get over to games, but I hope you do, and I hope you are there on Sunday, you fucking deserve it son, and I do not begrudge it just because you are not from Manchester - you were there when we lost 5-1 at Fulham etc
