So your against any new fans then??.Not alot of foward thinking in that. They have every right to celebrate if thats what they want to do? lighten up mate lives to short just enjoy it along with everyone else,I celebrate the fact that they want to be blues can only be good for the future of our club.

I agree buddy. All new fans are welcome and City supporters should welcome them.

This thinking is completely unfair. I for one have supported the squad going on four years. I am from Pennsylvania in the US(Im only 20). I picked City because Claudio Reyna was my favorite player for the U.S National team. I knew nothing about the Abu Dahbi takeover until I began to research our club further. New(ish) fans choose to follow the club for all types of reasons. I choose City because of the claudio reyna factor, and the Manchester United hatred factor because they reminded me of the New York Yankess who I despise as well. Not all new fans our glory hunters, now yes if by some miracle City were to get relegated next year would it make it diffcult to continue to follow obvioisly yes. But that is not because I would say oh fu&k. It would be because it would be nearly impossible to follow a championship season over here in the states.(No streams)

I absolutely love this club, and I have shown that by driving over 4 hours to watch them play an exibihition game in Baltimore two summers ago. Spending 160$ on tickets for a meaningless game just so I could say I saw "God's own club" in person. NOT every new supporter is a glory hunter, a lot our but please dont just group me in with the lot. Thank you God Bless, and lets win the PL on Sunday! CTID

You know what's funny about fans like you? You chose to support a club for whatever reason but it is almost invariably results in you supporting a top club. I've never known someone who lives abroad that has been led to supporting a Accrington type club. In fact it is very rarely even a low premiership club. You can say you chose City for whatever reason but the fact is that you're using that reason as an excuse to attach yourself towards them.

Please don't refer to yourself as a supporter. It is an insult to everything our proud club has stood for over generations and it pains me to see the continued devaluation that people like you give to the word supporter.

I am amazed by the attitude of some blues.. yeah I only started supporting the club 3-4 years ago when I actually got sky in new Zealand and could actually watch games in the epl and wanted to pick a team. I didn't want to be a united, liverfail, arseanal, or Chelsea fan because they had already won practically everything the last 4-5 years.. so I watched some games and loved the way city played.. the atmosphere at COMS was amazing and I can not wait for the day to be Able to travel to Manchester and actually watch a game.. and besides I buy shirts etc.. my brother has a Silva shirt.. fans around the world is what is gonna help the club meet FFP rules and also keep the EPL making. Fortune in TV rights each year for the future.. don't consider it a bad thing.. honestly.

You're more than entitled to think that, and I realize there is nothing I can say to change it. All I can do is be the best fan I can be for the club. I apologize I was not born in Manchester or the UK like the lot of you. To be Honest I fully understand why you think this way. Hopefully one day you will think differently, but I wont hold my breath. I will end it with this I wasn't at York away but I am for York PA(Pennsylvania) if that means anything lol.

Wow.. just wow. Without international support city would be kicked out of the champions league or not be able to spend enough to compete.. Chelsea united would continue for years to come.. you like that idea? I bet you do for your own selfish pride... I somehow think 90% of Manchester city locals would not like your stance.

there are fans....and there are supporters

some of these supporters have been going (to matches in person) for years/ decades

their parents and grandparents for longer in some cases

all are welcome of course but clearly all do not have the same emotional investment to date

how could they?

but yes they are still valued as new fans of course

Lol, buying a shirt and watching us on sky does not make you a fan. Watching our club jump from one calamity to another, being there for the heartbreak of everything bad and still turning up on cold, wet nights whilst your friends around you have pledged their allegiance to a 'big' club and mock City at every opportunity yet still proudly displaying the badge wherever you go is what being a fan is all about. You have absolutely no idea what most of us have been through. If this particular trend carries on we'll start to resemble the rags more and more as seasons elapse. The soul will be removed from our club and we will lose our identity. The amount or arrogance that the new fans will bring to our club will grow and we will no longer be the team that most neutrals want to beat United, we will become just another arrogant club in their eyes. One thing I've always made sure I do is not to mock others for their support of lower league clubs. One thing I really admire about them is their feeling of belonging in their club. I certainly admire them a hell of a lot more than some converted rag scum like you that has decided to leach on to the new found success of our club.

If you don't support the team of an area that you have a emotional attachment to, you're cheating yourself a little in my opinion. Should we win on Sunday I'll be ecstatic, that as a Mancunian, my football team has chalked one up for the City of Manchester opposed to being happy because a team called Manchester City has won the EPL.

I don't have any ill feeling towards those that support a team for it's name and the success they can attach themselves to, but I'm happy in the knowledge that any victory will mean much more to me than it will them. That's not aloofness, it's just par for the course when living in the community the club plies it's trade in.

Nonetheless, anybody that wants to support the club is welcome to in my eyes; it shouldn't be for anybody to judge and ultimately it's a bit juvenile.
Not a Mancunian but I take pride in the fact I have followed the team through the dark times and travelled to games for years. Proximity doesn't affect emotional attachment in this circumstance, more reward of loyalty. I fear this will be missed by the new fans who have jumped onboard, but we need them to compete with the elite!

If international support is embarassing what about international funding

you're right that the rags should be embarassed by this tbf

City's support (i.e. match going supporters) is of course is mostly local

City now have international funding like the rags too although we seem to have chosen better lol
