Nottingham Forest (H) | Sat 23rd Sept | PL | Post Match Thread

It's not the red card, it's Taylor's letting foul after foul go unpunished, not booking a Forest player 2 minutes into the game after he cleared out Foden then booking Akanji for a lesser challenge in an identical position at the other end.
It's enabling the opposition to be emboldened by being allowed to kick fuck out of you with impunity.
Pep has alluded to this but couldn't say so directly.
It's not the first time Taylor has done this.
It's blatant cheating plain and simple.
Leading up to the red card, Gibbs-Shite kicked Rodri twice from behind which Taylor ignored.
By the letter of the law It's a red card but this was a consequence of Taylor's disgraceful performance.
That's why I'm personally so pissed off with Taylor and I suspect I'm not the only one.

One thing I've not seen mentioned yet - when the game was over, why did Taylor and the other three officials all bugger off down the tunnel when all 22 players were still out on the pitch? It was still tense and anything could have happened. There were still potential cards to be handed out, Grealish and Montiel were still having words, but Taylor just wandered off. I thought the referees had to be the last off the field? Red cards can be given at any time but Taylor just decided enough was enough and that the game didn't need refereeing anymore?

I noticed that too.
I was going to give the cheating Rag **** a bit of abuse at the end (not that he would have heard me from SS3 but it would have made me feel better for venting at the cheating twat) but like you said he fucked off sharpish.
The only conclusion I can draw myself is that he knew he would get a load of abuse for his blatant cheating from some of our players and coaching staff as well as from the stands and wanted to get out of the firing line asap.

Taylor had a mare. But here's where I differ from most of our fans. Taylor is normally ok in our games, and I think a lot of that is down to the scrutiny on him because of his family full of Utd fans. But today - totally inept.

I haven’t watched much football apart from City last 2 seasons so hadn’t seen Nunes
Was fairly confident in our scouts so knew he’d be a tidy footballer but pleasantly surprised today by his grit and speed
Only going to get better as well
Looks like another hit

Was shite at Anfield and The Emirates last season.
Fucked us over at Anfield and tried to but failed to do so at The Emirates.
The worst performance I've ever seen from a referee in my 35 years as a season ticket holder was his against Chelsea in Pep's first season.
Cost Ian Cheeseman his job on Radio Manchester when he called out Taylor for his cheating that day IIRC

That Chelsea game, Sergio getting taken out by David Luiz , Taylor puts the whistle to his mouth and then does blow it.
Had some terrible decisions that season, few of our players were lucky not to get serious injuries
