We left Eccles at 15:30, got the tram to town, switched trams and must've got there about 16:30ish. It was all good. Got a pint and listened to Cast under some trees with a beer.

Queues for urinals and bars weren't too bad either.

The council putting that fence to '"dissuade people from gathering there", and to protect livestock and recently planted trees' is quite something.

Why not just say you didn't pay, we don't like it and we're putting a stop to it.

Doubt it's thousands. It happens at other festivals too and the point is I doubt it is anything to do with protecting livestock. The point is, why lie about the reason for stopping it?

Probably easier to say that then say we don't want to pay for added security costs, dealing with potentially thousands more people due to social media sharing and the clean up operation after.
