Oasis reunion

I’m trying to work out a route or plan that includes Oasis in either Sao Paolo or Buenes Aires; and Boca v River Plate. Flights were around £650 return from London to Sao Paolo a few weeks ago when I looked but those prices seem to have shot up.

I might have to forget about Boca v River and just go to less glamorous games of either team.

I can recommend a book by Simon Inglis called Sightlines a Stadium Odyssey. He talks about infamous stadiums around the world. But also between chapters talks about a trip to Buenos Aires where he tries to visit every ground in the city and explains the story of each club and how they fit into the ecosystem of the city. Since reading the book it’s always been on the bucket list to visit.
The tickets for the Boca Vs River game will cost £600 minimum. For the match against Tigre it will be around £140. If you do the sort of trip we’re doing you should be able to do the flights for a grand

I’ve seen Boca v River tickets for £200. Not sure what the website was.
Also seen Oasis tickets for £300 which were ‘student tickets’ but I work at a Uni so should be able to use them.

The Supersonic book briefly does. Didn’t they record Supersonic in the Real People’s studio
They recorded lots at their studio. The Real People wrote Rockin Chair and Colombia with Noel. They also contributed to a few other songs, yet only got the credit on Rockin Chair.

Noel says how much he loved the band and the studio. I’ll try to dig out where they are referenced and post some photos of the pages from the book.

He ended up in court with them. I was just interested to see how much credit he gave them.
Just had a look at the Supersonic book again. Pages 87-94 is about the recording of the single Supersonic. Noel in particular talks about recording in their studio. There’s comments from Tony too. Noel says that the backing vocals ‘ahs’ on the bridge really make the song and that was Tony.

Columbia Noel wasn’t there Liam wrote the chorus to Columbia you can tell it’s not an Oasis song Noel was a devil for lifting songs and music from other bands, he owns up to it.

Noel must be delighted that they're having their best run since '96 while System Of A Down and Radiohead are having complete meltdowns.

Radiohead have to be one of the most overrated bands I think I have ever witnessed.

Artistically exceptional, not going to deny that, but good grief, I feel depressed after I listen to an album or even a single record.

They were favoured much more so by the middle and educated class as an embellishment in their lives, whereas for the working man, Oasis offered a resonating message and glimmer of happiness in their lives. It's why the nostalgia is so big with the reform and people wanting to chase back those few odd occasions of happiness that occured back in the 90's/00s.

Add in them being a symbol of counter-culture, fashion, brother story. It's a recipe for success and a product many can get behind, even if you never lived it back then.
